JOB SUMMARY/OVERVIEW
The Benefits Informatics Analyst is responsible for developing and interpreting medical and clinical data to provide business and financial advice to TriNet’s senior leadership team. The position utilizes medical data repositories to analyze and pinpoint cost drivers, healthcare trends, develop KPI’s and utilizations. This position will be responsible for gathering data from a variety of sources, compiling results and reporting on findings to senior management. The ability to analyze data and provide recommendations is critical.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES •Proficiency creating queries using a variety of database applications, primarily from the Truven Healthcare Analytics database.
•Independently design and analyze adhoc requests. Articulate and communicate findings of healthcare trend and drivers to senior leadership thru data visualization or other tools with minimal direction.
•Performs business analysis, eliciting, analyzing, specifying, and managing reporting needs at a high-level of competency.
•Proactively identify and resolve data discrepancies.
•Support quarterly analysis and recommendations for client re-pricing actions; producing, evaluating and providing pertinent feedback to colleagues on utilizations and KPHIs using the healthcare database.
•Expertise conducting data analysis using basic skills in statistics and database management.
•Comprehensive understanding of all fields within the healthcare analytics database to create and analyze monthly and ad-hoc reports as requested.
•Convert data into functional formats, reconcile and identify data anomalies.
•Thorough understanding of PeopleSoft, SalesForce, HR Passport, and healthcare analytics database.
•Compile claims and premium information, summarize results and provide insight to analysts and management.
•Identify and implement process improvements to existing procedures.
•Maintain relationships with carrier and vendor contacts to help with data interpretation and resolution of data integrity issues.
•Manage deliverables to meet time and resource budgets for prompt delivery.
•Train prepare and mentor Associate and Sr Associate colleagues.
•Capable of evaluating a variety of adhoc analytics, providing pertinent feedback to colleagues.
•Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the manager’s discretion.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education: BA/BS degree in finance, economics, math or other business-related areas having strong quantitative and analytical analysis or equivalent combination of education and experience desired

Experience:
•3-5 years’ experience in healthcare analytics, and/or insurance with prior client facing responsibilities
•3-5 years in healthcare administration or related field.

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with an advanced proficiency in Excel, including SUM/IF, VLOOKUPS, arrays, conditional formatting, pivot tables, and dashboards.
•Proficiency in PeopleSoft, Oracle, MS Access, MS Visio, MS PowerPoint, Truven, MS Project Management
•Demonstrate logical reasoning, critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify, analyze, evaluate and interpret information
•Extensive knowledge of medical utilization data
•Outstanding financial and problem-solving skills
•Report writing, data mining and analytical interpretation
•Navigate various databases, understand the schema, meaning of various table and column definitions
•Proficiency with Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) tools such as Tableau
•Exceptional presentation and facilitation skills
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Ability to communicate with employees at all levels of the organization
•Proven project management experience
•Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
•Excellent interpersonal skills
•Ability to adapt to a fast paced continually changing business and work environment while managing multiple priorities
•A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace
