Job Description Summary

The Associate General Counsel will support the General Counsel in providing legal assistance and counsel to all departments of the University.

Job Description

Duties and Tasks:

  • Function as a member of the Legal Affairs Department
  • Review, revise and assist with a broad variety of commercial contracts, leases, and other transactional documents
  • Support the security, safety and risk management operations of the University
  • Conduct legal research and provide analysis as needed
  • REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    Knowledge:

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
  • Membership in good standing in The Florida Bar
  • Combination of education and experience that demonstrates necessary knowledge, skills and abilities
  • Skills:

  • Analytic abilities, adaptability, and good judgment
  • Written and verbal communications skills
  • Comfort with using Excel and Word software
  • Experience handling sensitive and confidential information appropriately
  • Organizational skills
  • Abilities:

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • Ability to find, understand, interpret and apply relevant case law, statutes, and regulations
