Robert Half Management Resources is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to be part of a dynamic, fast-growing team. If you are a self-starter with a passion for analytics and strong technical skills, then you may prosper in this Assistant Controller position. This Assistant Controller role is a short-term temporary employment opportunity located in Davie, Florida.

Your responsibilities in this role

- Efficiently maintain and prepare reconciliations/analyses for balance sheet and income statement accounts
- Assist in developing the accounting team, which includes staffing, performance management, and training
- Conduct treasury functions to ensure vendors are paid in a timely manner and cash forecasts are accurate
- Take on coordination and leadership over external financial audits
- Provide external reporting, technical accounting GAAP mentorship, and support to the Company
- Uphold policies for reporting and accounting
- Effectively prepare reporting packages on a monthly and quarterly basis and supply to Board meeting decks
- Ensure the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close are completed, as well financial statements

Other responsibilities may include participation in special projects, system improvements or impromptu analyses/projects as assigned
- Drive the monthly financial executive package and control book to include budget to actual comparisons by department

- Suitable industry experience
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Excellent verbal, written, and social communication skills
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
- Notable analytical, quantitative and social skills
- SOX internal control assessments (Section 404) experience
- Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
- Ability to anticipate needs and pre-plan work
- Relevant industry experience (preferred)
- Bachelor degree in Accounting
- Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills required
- Bank reconciliations experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of Oracle
- Foundational knowledge in month end closings
- Account reconciliation experience preferred
