Job Title Manager, Research and Insights Overview The LAC Consumer Marketing team is looking for a Research & Insights Manager to support and manage the needs of our Research agenda by consistently innovating and problem-solving. The ideal candidate is passionate about understanding the customer experience journey, highly motivated, intellectually curious, analytical, and possesses an entrepreneurial mindset. • Develop, lead, manage and execute Mastercard’s research agenda • Provides and leverages core research data – primary and secondary research, data analytics, methodologies and tools and performance measurement • Leverages one or more of the following: intelligence to identify emerging consumer behaviors, scans competitive landscape, economic trends, inclusion, sustainability, and draws insights about customer needs and wants and communicates these insights/findings • Works proactively in a business partner role to proactively provide integrated, multi-disciplinary intelligence/insights that supports the development of strategies and measurement of effectiveness • Sets standards for intelligence globally, including vendor management, execution, analysis and communication Role • Conducts initial desk research to determine topic areas to further explore; writes blog posts and establishes a voice and perspective • Refines and builds out key insights and industry trends, and requests additional analyses if needed • Guides and reviews research and analysis, including enhancement of existing methodology and reviewing results of forward-looking models, based on requests from internal customers • Guides research activities to predict future trends and industry landscapes, i.e., trend spotting • Recommends how thought leadership content can be leveraged to communicate subject matter expertise in the marketplace, including educating stakeholders • Reviews and conducts market research in response to internal customers' needs and requests • Reviews periodic performance tracking reports to inform internal customers of operational processes including quarterly reviews, yearly planning and dashboard reviews; provides clarification and guidance as needed • Monitors and makes adjustments to Research & Insights budget for own projects to ensure that all campaigns, programs, and activities are within allocated budget • Obtain detailed research briefs All About You The ideal candidate for this position should have experience in: • Working with P&I, Digital or Services teams to ensure their needs are being met from a research perspective • Participating in quantitative studies, including exposure to different types of research such as segmentation, conjoint, qualitative research • Working on large projects that require a high degree of collaboration with external stakeholders and colleagues across marketing areas • Acting in a program manager capacity for analyzing data and insights about how to optimize channels/programs • Monitoring project budgets successfully and demonstrated understanding of cost drivers • Leveraging multiple sources of data to identify gaps between existing research and business needs, and conduct or oversee additional research, if needed • Strong analytical ability with the capability to transform online data into actionable insights and execute upon, using Analytical Tools and Systems, including advanced Excel • Ability to connect with a wide range of constituents across functions, organizational levels, and cultures; proven experience leading through influence in a matrix organization, including global, regional and local teams. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, successfully delivering presentations to internal leadership or external stakeholders, and articulate a clear point of view • Strong attention to detail and organization Due to COVID-19, most of our employees are working from home.
