What you'll do:

SAS Institute is pleased to announce the posting of a Global Academic Program Manager position, to be filled as soon as possible. The Global Academic Program Manager will be responsible for establishing and fostering relationships with higher education stakeholders (e.g. faculty members, students, administrators) to maximize the use of SAS software in teaching and learning in Mexico. The focus is on the adoption of SAS in curriculum to support development of SAS users of the future and connecting programs using SAS software to customers for employment.

A successful candidate must have:

  • Prior experience as a faculty member, an administrator, officer, graduate researcher or teaching assistant, curriculum development expert, or a closely related profession within higher education. Experience must be with public or private-not-for-profit institutions.
  • A working knowledge of higher education, including, but not limited to, faculty ranks, administration, as well as relevant structures within higher education.
  • Ability to foster, curate, and sustain academic and commercial connections, create best practices, and take these practices to scale are essential to this position.
  • A willingness to become an expert in higher education and develop knowledge in analytics. Interest in cultivating relationships with faculty and other key academic and industry stakeholders.
  • The primary role of the Global Academic Program Manager is to build positive relationships with academic institutions. A key component of this is working with stakeholders to develop curricula and programs that teach SAS skills which align to our SAS customers’ hiring needs. Candidate must develop an understanding of SAS software and training offerings available to academic audiences, as well as company procedures and policies related to licensing in order to effectively build these relationships.

    The development of these relationships allows the Program Manager to build a unique understanding of academic needs and use this knowledge to serve in a consultative capacity in the following ways:

  • Develop strategy to maximize SAS integration into post-secondary curricula.
  • Collaborate with the certification team to increase skill verification opportunities for students.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to build academia-industry relationships, among others.
  • Maintain up-to-date tracking of all activities and initiatives annually and prepare reports for management as needed.
  • Provide feedback on SAS solutions and services related to academic community,
  • Deliver internal and external presentations on SAS software, resources, and demand for SAS skill.
  • Provide guidance on in-demand teaching and learning content, such as such as e-learning, applied learning activities, guided practice sets, and independent studies.
  • What we’re looking for

  • Master’s degree or higher (preferred) in Analytics, Business, Marketing, Social Science, Health Sciences, Computer Science or a related field.
  • Typically requires a minimum of three years’ experience within higher education as either a faculty member, administrator, officer, curriculum content expert, development, or policymaker.
  • Excellent communication skillsability to effectively communicate core organizational value propositions,conversant in a variety of topics directly related to higher education, and prior professional publications and/or presentations to an academic audience.
  • Willingness to work on a team and in a collaborative environment that seeks to make the unit better daily.
  • Strong time management, prioritization, and organization skills.
  • Strong project management skills.

  • The nice to haves:

  • Prior experience using SAS software is highly valued. Prior experience using SPSS, Stata, R, or Python is also valued.
  • Prior experience with curriculum development.
  • Prior experience aligning curriculum with labor market/industry needs.
  • Prior experience with multidisciplinary collaboration within higher education.
  • Established relationships and connections to academic institutions a plus.
