Logistics Specialist is responsible of following duties from operational execution point of view:

POSITION STATEMENT

Logistics Specialist main responsibilities are monitoring inbound shipments and handling import documents. They will be working very closely with multiple freight forwarders. A person that already has experience in logistics coordinator tasks or similar logistics jobs in an international business environment is needed. They should be familiar working with different stakeholders and transportation partners. It is also preferable that they have some experience with SAP and the ability to adopt other necessary applications in daily work.

Will need to have good customer service attitude and can communicate fluently in English. Work style is independent, adaptable, and flexible. As a Logistics Specialist should be able to manage multiple issues in a tight schedule and have the attitude of getting the job done. This job requires the ability to prioritize and work efficiently under pressure. Most importantly a team player who is always willing to learn and help each other to succeed.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Daily follow up of inbound shipments, since the arrival at the border, port or airport, coordinate together with customs team broker release and after it follow the shipment until it reaches the customer site.

  • Ensure local import & export customs compliance is setup & run as per local regulations and Metso Outotec global/regional guidelines.

  • Operate with approved and accepted Logistics Service Providers and work according to the Logistics Agreement documentations

  • Follow up payments to brokers and freight Companies.

  • Daily follow up to inbound reports.

  • Revision of Monthly import/inbound reports.

  • Ensure Logistics documentation is accurate and completed for transportation. 

  • Responsibility for obtaining missing/requested information or facilitating documentation corrections from the customs broker to support customs clearance.

  • To keep the record of each Import and be sure that all the information declared to customs authorities is correct.

  • Provide information and support for stakeholders (e.g Order Management) about operational logistics and possibilities. 

  • Active shipments monitoring and deviation management.

  • Requirements and Experience

  • Bachelor in International Commerce, International Trade, or Logistics as well as 3-5 years’ experience in Logistics, Import & Export Areas.

  • Strong knowledge in customs Law (Ley aduanera, Ley de Comercio Exterior, Free Trade Agreements, NOMs and Incoterms).

  • Strong technical written and oral communication skills required combined with accuracy and attention to details.

  • Be organized, detail oriented, and capable of handling personal interactions with all departments and internal customers. Work on assignments with little supervision.

  • Proactive.

  • Advanced English is required (written speech and reading).

  • Must be familiar with Logistics, Import and Export Processes.

  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural and multi-language atmosphere.

  • Ability to work under pressure.

  • Possess great communication and teamwork skills.

  • Be self-directed and motivated.
