Responsible for the success of transportation, Donation Express centers and warehouse operations in all six (6) counties served by Goodwill Industries of Central Florida. Build relationships with stakeholders including vendors, team members, customers, etc. Record data and strategize to meet sales and delivery goals, reduce costs, and forecast market needs. Ensure that all steps meet regulatory, quality, and timeliness goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

In concert with the company’s leadership team and the organization’s long-range plans, develop, plan and implement programs and procedures which will provide for the safe and efficient movement and production of donations across Orange, Lake, Volusia, Osceola, Brevard, and Seminole counties.

Oversee and maintain safe and efficient operations across all six counties for:

  • Transportation
  • Donation Express Centers
  • Production and warehouse facilities
  • Develop and administer annual budgets for each of your reporting departments.

    Develop, implement and report on strategic goals and objectives as they relate to each of your reporting departments.

    Ensure compliance with county, state and federal regulations as they pertain to each department, such as:

  • Consumer Product Safety Commission recalls
  • Electronic Waste reporting and documentation
  • Ensure proper maintenance, safety and protection of physical assets.

    Manage human capital to effectively carry out goals in all six counties, including recruitment and training of competent supervisors, managers and support staff to meet company goals and objectives.

    Coordinate all salvage operations to ensure GICF is extracting the highest value possible and redirecting as much refuse as possible away from landfills.

    Ensure Departmental manuals and other Administrative materials are updated and maintained to reflect current donation and warehouse operational practices.

    Complete and submit required paperwork to ensure proper administration of established systems. Process payroll for employees, maintaining confidentiality in this and all other human resource functions and procedures.

    Develop a safe work environment through safe work practices, communicating periodic safety information, and performing safety inspections, as needed.

    Qualifications

  • Ability to accept responsibility for direction, control and planning of donation and warehouse operations, budget and staffing.
  • Ability to present information or ideas clearly, orally and written, including synthesizing data collection and making recommendations as they apply to established departmental budgets and both company and department goals and objectives.
  • Ability to organize and utilize time effectively.
  • Ability to reason, make and generalizations, evaluations and decisions based on both sensory/judgmental and measurable/verifiable criteria.
  • Ability to deal with people beyond giving or receiving instructions, including ability to understand other’s feelings and personal viewpoints and adapt to the situation.
  • Ability to drive a variety of company vehicles including, cars, trucks and vans.
  • This requires a valid Florida Driver’s License and good driving record
  • Ability to adhere to the organization’s Core Principles
  • Excellent skills in personnel management/employee relations, accounting/budgeting processes
  • Strong knowledge of material handling and processing techniques
  • Strong knowledge of transportation and logistics
  • Familiar with safety rules and procedures, including proper lifting techniques
  • Knowledge of current applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations, ordinances and policies
  • Ability to establish and maintain rapport with others, both inside and outside the organization
  • Education and/or Experience:

    Bachelor’s Degree, related field or equivalent; non-profit management experience. A minimum of ten (10) years’ related experience, preferably in logistics and/or a non-profit production environment. Previous supervisory experience required.

    Computer Skills:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have advanced knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    This position has supervisory responsibilities including supervision of subordinate supervisors.

    Purchasing Authority:

    Purchasing Authority Level- VP of VCS/VP of Development/Senior Directors

    SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

    Environment:

  • The job is performed both inside and outside, with frequent travels to donation sites and warehouse facilities.
  • The ground around donation sites may be uneven.
  • Work is completed independently and in cooperation with other Goodwill Industries of Central Florida staff.
  • There is regular contact with the public, vendors and community groups to acquire goods/services, maintain locations/sites and promote the company’s vision.
  • The job requires the incumbent to deal with occasional short deadlines or special events, which may require longer days.
  • The work environment includes periods of high activity throughout the course of the workday.
  • Physical Requirements:

  • The workplace is steady requiring consistently standing and walking.
  • The job involves medium physical work demands requiring lifting 25lbs maximum.
  • Large or heavier items (26 lbs or more) will be moved either with assistance from another person or by using appropriate material handling equipment.
  • Safety handling procedures must be followed.
  • Normal or corrected talking, hearing, and seeing abilities are sufficient to perform required tasks.

    License and Certifications:
