Staff Accountant - Fort Myers

To succeed in this Staff Accountant role, you will need to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. To succeed in this role, you will need to perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. Located in the Fort Myers, Florida area, this position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work. To thrive in this position, you will need to be a detail-oriented and analytical thinker with a talent for creating Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets.

Responsibilities

- Manage depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation

- Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management

- Play a part in a variety of department-wide initiatives

- Assemble journal entries and thorough account reconciliations that include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

- Special projects and impromptu reporting, upon request

- Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries

- Survey and organize various financial data, reporting it in a useful and understandable manner

- Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

- In-depth experience with reconciling month end balance sheet accounts

- Produce journal entries and perform the month end close under minimal supervision

- Prepare monthly financial close workbooks to support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process
