Facility Description:

LawnwoodRegional Medical Center & Heart Institute is a 380-bed acute-care hospital offeringa full range of services. Lawnwood is home to the most experienced HeartInstitute on the Treasure Coast providing interventional and therapeutic care,including open-heart surgery. Other hospital services include adult andpediatric emergency services, labor/delivery and birthing, pediatrics,orthopedics, oncology, nuclear medicine, diagnostic services, as well asinpatient and outpatient surgical services.

 

Lawnwood is designated by the JointCommission as a Certified Primary Stroke Center. The Physical RehabilitationCenter is CARF accredited and we are designated a Level II Trauma Center by theFlorida Department of Health and verified by the American College of Surgeons. Wealso offer a freestanding ER in Vero Beach providing emergency treatment for adultsand children closer to home. Additionally Lawnwood offers the area’s only LevelIII Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit(PICU). At Lawnwood patients come first – no matter what! Job Description:

The Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for planning and administering medically prescribed treatment programs for the rehabilitation of speech, language, cognitive and oral motor disorders.  Job tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Counsels, educates and instructs patients and their families regarding their speech-language pathology treatment
  • Demonstrates competency in rehabilitation procedures
  • Maintains accurate patient records

Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology.
  • Must be currently licensed by the state as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Certification as a BLS Healthcare Provider.
