Sepsis, Stroke & Chest Pain Coordinator (RN)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Disease Specific Coordinator RN utilizes a variety of clinical and leadership skills toeducate, consult, and facilitate the service-line team in achieving the highestquality of service and satisfaction for the patients. Facilitates thedevelopment, implementation and ongoing adherence of sepsis program protocolsand therapies. Collaborates with medial and hospital staff to providemultidisciplinary care to septic patients. Leads the ongoing performance improvement and educational initiativesrelated to the care of the patient with Acute Coronary Syndrome and maintenanceof Chest Center with PCI accreditation for the hospital.  Responsible for the Heart Center ofExcellence Committee including organization, agenda, attendance, meeting, andminutes. Provides oversite of data collection and analyst for cardiologyquality initiatives (i.e. ACC/NCDR/AHA/STS Data Registries).  Provides education and clinical expertise tocare team, patients, and families.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associates or diploma in Nursing required; BSN preferred
• Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license required; or appropriate multi-statelicense
• BLS, ACLS & NIHSS required
• Minimum two (2) years of Acute Care, CriticalCare, and/or ED experience with a solid grasp of hemodynamics required

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE& ABILITIES:

Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonalcommunication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, abilityto follow verbal instructions, PC skills, Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Poinciana Medical Center is a four-story, 150,000 squarefoot hospital with 70 private beds and a six-bed private ICU. We provide a fullrange of acute care services including emergencyservices, inpatientand outpatient diagnostic imaging, inpatientand outpatient surgery, cardiac catheterization, laboratory,pharmacy, and a full range of support services. Our ED is approximately 14,500square feet and consists of 22 private treatment rooms, an EMS entrance and ahelicopter pad.
