The RTV Expeditor will act as the primary contact between Merchandising, Vendors, and Distribution to expedite all RTV/RWK merchandise back to the vendor in a timely manner. Manages the RTV Age and RTV$ of each vendor to meet company objectives. Manage and be individually responsible for $1-4 million of RTV inventory per expeditor and 200 + vendors at any one time. Job Description Details ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Manage RTV/RWK/VR inventory at multiple sites. Extensive interaction with vendors to obtain the return authorization and shipping address for RTV/RWK inventory shipments. (Phone calls and E-mails) Establishes and maintains a close working relationship with each vendor. Explains QVC’s return policies and communicates reasons merchandise is being returned - stock balances, customer returns and QA rejects. Periodically meet with vendors to discuss customer returns. Extensive communication with Merchandising to resolve any issues regarding RTV Inventory. Coordinate with and update Merchandising regarding the status of a vendor’s RTV inventory. Periodically meets with Merchandising to discuss RTV inventory Support of Distribution by preparing thorough and accurate paperwork on RTV shipments, work orders, and requests for information. Plan and organize RTV shipments to manage warehouse space and work to avoid breakdowns of customer RTV shipments. Creates shipments in WMS and/or Retek for all RTV shipments in WMS warehouses. Use WMS and/or Business Objects to research RTV inventory. Identify vendors who may be interested in having their products reworked and work to secure all needed information. Expedite the return of all RWK shipments so the vendor receives in a timely manner to allow for the item to be reworked and returned in time for the live broadcast. Works closely with Accounts Payable to research a vendor’s financial account and resolve/ avoid debit situations. Prepares ship orders on a daily basis to expedite shipments. Follows up on all Open RA Requests. Enters detailed comments in the RA system. Researches and resolves any items placed into RTV inventory using Retek/Business Objects and/or IBM/WMS. Follows all departmental policies and procedures. Preparation of work orders to disposition product from RTV to other status as necessary - with appropriate approvals. Work to achieve final resolution - RTV or Liquidation. Work to reduce RTV age and RTV $. Monitors and reports on new trends in the RTV process. Generates reports on RTV Inventory for Management. Act as an information resource for all internal/external customers on RTV inventory and vendors. Training and education of new employees/cross trainers, vendors, Merchandising, and all other Internal/external customers on RTV policies and procedures. SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE (Special skills, knowledge of machines, procedures, etc.) Ability to learn and use Access, Excel, and Lotus Notes to analyze information and communicate with internal/external customers. QUALIFICATIONS Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to be able to effectively interact with all internal and external customers. Strong customer service orientation. Good verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of Inventory Control, Returns, and Distribution Operations preferred include working knowledge of IBM/WMS. Ability to learn Access, Excel, Retek, IBM, WMS, and Lotus Notes to manage information and communicate with customers. Ability to learn data warehouse to manage inventory. Strong time management skills necessary to prioritize workload. Ability to work independently. Strong problem-solving skills. EDUCATION: High School Diploma required, College Degree preferred or equivalent combination of training and experience. EXPERIENCE: A minimum of six months related experience preferred. Ability to operate general office equipment (fax machine, photocopier, computer printer) stationed between 3 & 4 feet high. Ability to build relationships with internal & external customers. Strong Customer Service orientation. Ability to work independently with little supervision. Excellent written and oral Communication skills. Working knowledge of Distribution / Merchandising processes. Knowledge of Distribution / Returns / Inventory Control / Merchandising / Traffic or Finance Areas.
