The ICU RN manages the nursing careof critically ill patients in accordance with established policies, proceduresand protocols of the healthcare organization.  The tasks andresponsibilities include:

Assesses plansand evaluates patient care needs. 

Carries outphysician orders.  

Serves as theprimary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.

Monitors, recordsand communicates patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerizeddocumentation systems. 

Instructs andeducates patients and families.

Assesses andcoordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcareteam.

Educate new andcurrent staff on Sepsis program

Creates andprovides training material to staff on Sepsis care

Provides age andculturally appropriate care.

Orients andmentors new staff members.

Follows StandardPrecautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Qualifications

• FL RN Licensure, or
• Recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions)
• 
  
• Current certification as a BLS Healthcare Provider.
• Current certification as a Healthcare Provider  ACLS.
• Current certification as a Healthcare Provider PALS.
• 2-5 years of previous and recent ICU experience preferred.
• Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.
• Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds.
