Responsibilities

The role of the Project Manager is to provide strategic support to Liebherr customers to ensure the best possible productivity, reliability and service is achieved on the Mine Site. The Project Manager is the official Liebherr representative and communicates with the customer on a daily basis. He will work with local site resources and Factory Product Support to ensure that all Liebherr policies and procedures are adhered to whilst maintaining strong client relationships.

The Project Manager is a front line manager who is required to lead and develop Liebherr resources to ensure optimal support for the customer and project. He is responsible for the satisfaction of the customer with Liebherr’s Service Support.

  • Responsible for on-site organization to fulfil the technical assistance contract as per Liebherr Mining standards Implement the on-site organization as per the agreed scope of workMonitor Liebherr and Customer’s requirements in Safety and Environmental Protection policyManage his team on site and be responsible for their safety, welfare and efficiencyDefine the requirements for tools, support equipment and on-site workshopSupport the customer with organization of scheduled maintenance and repair work, with daily, weekly, monthly and yearly planningSupport the customer with assembly and commissioning of new machinesFollow up of machine history files, major component lifetimesMonitor machine’s performancesResponsible to achieve highest availability possible and other KPI’sManage warranty claims and classify repair jobs as warranty or non-warrantyInsure best practice are followedInsure LIEBHERR standards are followed and implemented in terms of service and preventive maintenance and component exchange.
  • Responsible to liaise with the Customer representative on site Permanent assessment of customers’ requirements and satisfactionParticipate to meetings, agrees with customer representative on action lists and ensures follow upParticipate in the customer’s planning meetingsAdvise on factory updates and upgrades, special tooling and equipment usageProvide consultancy to the customer in terms of maintenance practices to be used (inspections, services, preventive maintenance, trouble-shooting)Support customer in terms of maintenance best practice recommendations, at a fleet level as well as equipment levelHave a pro-active attitude towards customer
  • Responsible for the technical matters Quick and efficient technical support to the fleetCondition monitoring: assess together with the customer and technical department the results of oil samples and agree on schedules for crack and wear inspectionsReport to customer on preventive and corrective actions to be done, organize backlogs and major component's change-outSupervise activities carried out by Liebherr technical support team, such asDaily/weekly checks and services (PMs) with assistance of customer staff and equipmentTrouble-shooting with assistance of customer staff and equipmentHands-on training to customer staff (maintenance and trouble-shooting)
  • Advise and recommend for the parts stock management on site Assist on-site Liebherr Parts Coordinator with planning, execution and supervision of component and parts change outsGive input for definition and set-up of adequate on-site stock levels and storage of partsSchedule in advance the requirements for parts, and namely the major parts with long delivery time
  • Preparation of reports which outline all performance activities, relevant issues and KPI's Monthly reportProduct Information Reports (PIR) to Liebherr factory for product questions and issues
  • Competencies

  • Previous site experience in a Project Supervisory or Management role with min. 5 years managing service agreements/LPP/MARC contracts with focus on Fleet Management and Optimization
  • Experience with electric trucks and hydraulic excavators
  • Excellent communication in English and Spanish, interpersonal & negotiation skills.
  • Tertiary business/commercial qualification, or working towards.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Suite
  • Experience with maintenance & planning systems
  • Experience in countries with no mining history
  • Experience with set-up of new mining organizations
  • The role is site based on Cobre Panama mine site
  • Roster: relocation to Panama is preferred option, roster would be 10x4 days or similar; alternatively a fly in fly out might be considered which would be 8 weeks on x 2 weeks off (1 rest day on site every fortnight)
