SHIFT: No Weekends

SCHEDULE: Full-time

The Director of Infection Prevention is responsible for coordination of the hospital-wide Infection Control Program which includes surveillance, analysis, and reporting of nosocomial infections, education of staff, and the development of health system policies and procedures to ensure rigorous infection control standards that meet regulatory requirements.

 

Serving the community since 1976, Northside Hospital is a 288-bed facility, offering a full range of services including interventional stroke care, full-service orthopedic and spine treatment, a 24-hour emergency department, preventative and corrective cardiac care, general surgery and a graduate medical education program.

 

As the first Comprehensive Stroke Center in St. Petersburg, physicians and staff enjoy providing patient care in the technologically advanced facility.  With campus-based specialized units, such as the Tampa Bay Heart Institute and the Neuroscience Institute for Interventional Neuroradiology and neurologic care, Northside Hospital continues to enhance and expand its services. The Galen School of Nursing recently opened a campus hospital property.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelors degree required;  Masters Degree preferred


Experience:

3-5 years experience in infection control nurse in an inpatient hospital is strongly preferred. Has Knowledge and experience in patient care practices, microbiology, aseptic technique, disinfection/sterilization, adult education, infectious diseases, communication, and epidemiology.


Licensure:

Current FL RN license required or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held, active FL RN license required within 90 days of hire. If MPH license not applicable
