Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Custodial and Maintenance Assistant, Boca Raton, FL.

Summary of Responsibilities Include:

• Ensures spaces are prepared for the next day by taking out trash, and tidies furniture, etc.
• Sweeps, mops, and scrubs floors.
• Washes and sanitizes toilets, sinks and showers, and restocks disposables.
• Wipes mirrors, windows and glass doors.
• Maintains cleanliness in cafeteria and other eating areas.
• Dusts and cleans offices, classrooms, and/or other areas of the facility.
• Maintains outer premises by cleaning entrances and common areas.
• Vacuums carpets.
• Reports status of night cleaning crew responsibilities.
• Replaces light bulbs; makes simple repairs to buildings and cleaning equipment, and reports more extensive damage.
• Performs maintenance and minor repairs (replacing broken switches, fixing door handles, minor leaks, etc.).
• Paints and provides touch-ups, when needed.
• Reports damages.
• Secures facilities after operating hours by locking doors, when needed.
• Moving of equipment and furniture.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent and one year of appropriate experience required.

Knowledge of use and maintenance of cleaning equipment and appliances preferred.

Familiarity with basic landscaping and handyman practices preferred.

Attention to detail and conscientiousness preferred.

Salary:

$10.28 - $16 per hour
