Corporate Legal Residency Program-Temporary Contract Associate - Orlando

About the team

This position is in the FIS Legal Department and is a part of the FIS Corporate Legal Residency program for recent law school graduates. This is a temporary position with a limited duration of approximately 10 months.

What you will be doing

• Residents will review and analyze legal contract documentation with commercial clients of the company, principally financial institutions and sophisticated entities in the financial services and payments industries.
• Residents will identify and summarize key contract provisions in information and technology services contracts, software licenses, and other outsourcing and information services agreements for input into FIS’s enterprise electronic database.
• Residents will work directly with senior attorneys on legal research projects, including research and analysis on commercial contract and information technology law issues such as data security, privacy and regulatory matters. 
• The position is full-time (40-50 hours per week), and accommodations will be made for recent graduates studying for the Bar exam during the 4 weeks immediately prior to the Bar exam.

• A college degree and a Juris Doctor from a top-quality accredited US law school.
• An understanding of basic commercial contract principles
• Strong analytical skills and a strong attention to detail.
• Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new information technology systems with ease.
