    The Coordinator of Student Involvement is primarily responsible for the intentional programming efforts focused on the social, educational and overall development of our students. Efforts will support the mission of the University and the goals of the Division of Student Affairs and the Center for Student Involvement. This individual will work closely with students to provide quality programming and intentional developmental opportunities.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    CSI Programming

    This position is primarily responsible for the planning, development, execution, and assessment of programming efforts within the department. Programs may include on-campus and off-campus events that are focused on social, cultural, leadership, and personal development. A variety of approaches for providing developmental opportunities within our community is expected though the efforts put forth in this role. Administrative tasks include but are not limited to:

    • Logistical oversight for all programs offered by the Center for Student Involvement, the Student Activities Board and other student clubs/organizations, including setting up, removing, and storing all equipment
    • Maintaining the activities calendar for the Center
    • Negotiation and review of all business contracts related to the programs offered by the Center; and Budget Management

    Student Activities Board

    This position is responsible serving as the primary advisor to the Student Activities Board.

    • Oversee the selection and training process of the Student Activities Board;
    • Create calendar of events with SAB
    • Supervise SAB members with the contract and vendor process
    • Train SAB members about event planning and execution
    • Oversee all of the SAB events
    • Budget Management

    Student Clubs and Organizations

    This position is provides direct administrative oversight to all registered student clubs and organizations on campus.

    • Creates training for all Student Clubs and Organizations
    • Maintains policies and procedures for organizations to follow
    • Approval of all pre-event planning forms for programs submitted by clubs/organizations
    • Works with Advisors to support student organizations

    Assessment

    This position is responsible for the development and implementation of assessment strategies for areas of responsibility to measure effectiveness and satisfaction. This position will be integral in the strategic planning for all operations within the Center for Student Involvement.

    Policy/Procedure Development

    The Coordinator of Student Involvement aides in the development of departmental policies and procedures related to programs and services. The development of these items will be in conjunction with his/her colleagues within the department.

    Professionalism

    The Coordinator of Student Involvement is a professional staff member at the University. As such, this individual will maintain a high level of professionalism including, but not limited to behavior, attire, and representation of self and the University at all times. Additionally:

    • Follow-through with all responsibilities and communications in a timely manner;
    • Keep accurate records of events, programs, budgets, evaluations
    • Complete the appropriate assessment of programs and functions
    • Develop appropriate, professional relationships with students and colleagues (internal and external)
    • Maintain appropriate boundaries with students
    • Embrace an "open door" approach to communicating with students to assist with ideas, issues, and concerns relating to leadership and student life
    Other

    • This position requires that the Coordinator of Student Involvement is available on evenings and weekends to complete position requirements as necessary
    • Assist with campus wide programming efforts as needed, as well as major departmental and divisional initiatives
    • Assist in the management of the physical facilities of the Lynn Student Center through the coordination of activities, maintaining equipment, enforcing University policy and reporting issues to the appropriate department
    • Serve on University committees and task forces as assigned
    • Administer all other duties as assigned by supervisor

    Minimum Qualifications

    • An earned Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs or equivalent
    • Direct practical experience with student leadership, community service/civic engagement, student organizations and programming within an institution of higher education
    • Knowledge of student development theory
    • Good written and verbal communication skills
    • A strong desire and ability to work with students
