A prominent Manufacturing company is looking to grow its team by hiring a Controller through Robert Half Finance. This is a leadership role with responsibility over an accounting, finance, and clerical department. The Controller plans and directs all accounting operational functions, manages the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, analyzes accounting and internal control systems, and guides departmental staff. Major responsibilities

- Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports

- Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation

- Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

- Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals

- Comfortable in taking on tasks beyond formal job responsibilities

- Work closely with executive team and partners to facilitate efficient and effective firm-wide operation

- Time monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is punctual

- Assess deliverables of self and team to verify they meet client expectations

- Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

- Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis

- Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

Requirements
- Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills highly desired

- Experience being a hands-on Controller.

- Proven knowledge of a multiple entity Manufacturing Company with an emphasis on E-Commerce.

- Month end closings experience

- Previous experience working with Inventory Valuation

- Practical knowledge of inventory

- Well-founded grasp of Full Cycle Accounting

- Large ERP implementation experience is a MUST!

- Quality experience with inventory controls

- Wide ranging experience with Inventory Investment

- Earlier work involving Inventory Planning

- General familiarity with Annual Physical Inventory

- Good understanding of Inventory Reconciliation

- Manufacturing experience is a MUST!

- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis

- Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred

- Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

- Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued

- Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

- Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued

- Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

- Self-starter and strong ethical standards

- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

- Ability to meet deadlines
