Position Summary
Perform high quality diagnostic cardiac and vascular ultrasound testing:
Cardiac: 2D, M-mode, and spectral doppler echocardiography, exercise and dobutamine stress echocardiography.Strain, 3-D imaging, research protocol experience are a plus.
Vascular: Carotid ultrasound, venous/arterial doppler of upper and lower limbs.Venous ablations, venous insufficiency, renal artery doppler, and research protocol experience are a plus.
Education/Training
Graduate of accredited school of sonography or meets American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) eligibility guidelines.
Licensure/Certification:
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and/or
Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) and Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and/or
Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) and;
Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.
Experience
Formal training certification from an accredited program with a minimum of two (2) years experience.
Essential Functions
Recognizes normal and abnormal cardiac and vascular anatomy and physiology.
Functions in a supervisory level in the absence of the Operations Manager when requested.
Communicates openly and effectively with all members of the healthcare team.
Acquires patient’s clinical history and provide accurate documentation.
Positions patient, equipment, and manipulates technical factors to achieve high quality images for interpretation.
Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
Exercises professional judgment in performance of services, maintaining a caring demeanor.
Delivers appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures.
Complies with all state and federal regulations applicable to sonography.
Adheres to policy, procedures, protocols, mission statements and commitment to excellence standards.
Assesses the patient’s physical condition and age specific needs.
Provides instructions that achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
Maintains accurate and precise documentation. Accurately record verbal and telephone cardiology orders from physicians in the patient record.
Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
