The Behavioral Health Therapist performs assessments and provides counseling to patients and families for the treatment of emotional and psycho-social disorders.

Our Adult Behavioral Health unit is in a secured area of the hospital and offers short-term treatment to stabilize patients age 18 and over who are experiencing a crisis that cannot be managed in an outpatient setting. After a comprehensive assessment, we provide an individualized treatment plan.

Licensure/Education:

• Masters degree in a human services related field (Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health, or Counseling)

• Advanced educational preparation or experience in the area of clinical practice and/or management

• Eligible for or currently licensed in Florida as a Psychologist, Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Marriage and Family Counselor (LMFT)

• Current CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) required within 60 days of hire; Level 2 Fingerprinting required upon hire

• Current BLS Certification from the American Red Cross (HCA chosen provider) OR American Heart Association is required.

• Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills
