Are you interested in actuarial modeling and projections? Do you want to learn Traditional Life Products? Do you have experience gathering data for planning, financial forecast and quarterly earnings?

What You Will Do:

As an Actuarial Technician I you will prepare and analyze statistical reports of data to be used by the actuarial staff. You will provide quantitative support in product development, financial analysis, management reporting, modeling and other actuarial research.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Significant and complex data manipulation with some use of macros and other programs.
  • Significant analysis on projects of smaller scope.
  • Has authority to sign-off on projects of smaller scope.
  • Works independently with some guidance.
  • May update the Axis model with mortality, Lapses and expense assumptions
  • May provide valuation projects with direction
  • May provide assistance to Actuary in research and response to questions about variances of actual to budget on quarterly basis
  • May provide assistance with actuarial modeling.
  • Extracts and integrates data from various databases to analyze and develop reports and spreadsheets.
  • What You Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, or other relevant area or equivalent education/experience. 
  • Up to 3 years relevant work experience.
  • Strong PC skills including Excel. 
  • Strong mathematical skills and statistical aptitude.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills. Effective organizational skills.
  • Preferred: Basic knowledge of accounting concepts and insurance terminology by having completed some industry courses such as SOA exams
