The Opportunity

This position works out of our Costa Rica – Alajuela location in the Electrophysiology Division. In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.

As the Production Supervisor I, you will provide leadership to the production teams to deliver the business results and expectations on a day to day basis for one or more production areas. This position requires training in human resources/people skills, quality systems, and manufacturing processes. The position is responsible for ensuring that standard production processes are maintained and that safety, quality and production volumes are met.

What You’ll Do

  • Clearly understands his/her Supervisory responsibility for production teams including personnel scheduling, evaluating discipline, coaching, selection and training of staff.
  • Participate and support compliance routines related to own production line to comply with internal and external regulatory requirements (FDA, TUV, etc.). Responsible to report quality issues immediately and be closely involved in their investigation and solution.
  • Execute the required plans to accomplish the production goals, which include productivity indicators, schedule adherence, quality, cost and service while maintaining a safe environment. Have full responsibility / ownership of his/her area of production. This includes understanding of systems to evaluate the state of efficiency and compliance of his/her area of production.
  • Tabulate prod line leading indicators with prior or following supervisor to ensure that the transition between shifts is adequate.
  • Tabulate reports to communicate production progress, accomplishments and issues on a daily basis. This may include coordinating daily meetings with staff and peers to discuss issues and determine future schedules of own production line. Interprets daily production metrics and establishes mechanisms to ensure that all processes are in compliance with standard procedures.
  • Employee performance/engagement Supervise (organize, plan, direct and control) his/her production teams to achieve the expected quality, production schedule, staffing and safety goals. Apply initiatives to motivate and energize personnel to obtain top performance. Ensures adequate communication to staff of all required HR related information.

Required Qualifications

  • 80% completeness of a bachelor’s degree program from a four-year college or university on Engineering or Administration.
  • 0-2 years supervisory experience. Preferably in a medical device, pharmaceutical, or electronic industry.
  • Basic command of English
  • Computer skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency on manufacturing systems used to collect data
  • and control/monitor processes. For example SFA, SAP, Kronos, or similar.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ISO and quality systems as FDA, MDD.
  • Desirable at least one certification related or applicable to medical industry. For example CQE, 6Sigma black belt, lean coach, problem solving techniques, etc.
  • Flexibility to work on different shifts schedule and areas is preferred.
  • Demonstrated capacity to effectively lead/influence peers and other functions towards organizational goals.

SHIFT C: Monday – Friday 10:00 pm to 6:00 am.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor´s degree in Engineering or similar field.
  • Experience leading teams.

Requisitos

What You'll Do For Us:

  • Partner with Operations Units and bottlers to execute key safety programs across the Coca-Cola System, from manufacturing to distribution and marketplace.
  • Serve as a key thought leader in the Global Safety Council (GSC), driving execution of focus areas and ensuring alignment with TCCS global safety strategy and safety performance metrics.
  • Leverage the Global Safety network to share successful practices, insights, and knowledge sharing, while enhancing safety technology initiatives, including metrics for leading and lagging indicators.
  • Advance understanding of Human and Organizational Performance (HOP), ensuring readiness for implementation through capability building and organizational assessments in this aspect.
  • Develop and oversee execution plans for critical safety processes including but not limited to machinery safety, hazardous energy control, contractor management, Life-Saving Rules, and other programs as per needs of global network.
  • Support developing KORE safety requirements, guidance, and global governance frameworks. Identify existing and emerging needs and collaborate with governance teams to adapt requirements as necessary.
  • Work closely with global safety auditors to enhance audit effectiveness and apply operational learnings.
  • Lead efforts to understand Serious Incident and Fatality (SIF) risks, sharing lessons learned across the system.
  • Monitor global and regional (where needed) safety trends, provide technical guidance and subject matter expertise on root cause analysis, and safety incident resolution.
  • Drive safety technology transformation, co-developing the Safety 4.0 framework. Co-leads the global GSC/QSE safety technology pillar, safety pitching events, introducing Safety innovations, and making sure the pilots are run effectively, and outcomes/learnings are shared with the system.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in safety, engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 10+ years of experience in organizational safety roles within the supply chain, including 5+ years in regional/global positions.
  • Proven expertise in workplace safety and driving safety performance improvement. Proven track record in building a safety programs/initiatives development & creation of short/long term plans for implementation.
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal); additional language skills are desired

Roles And Responsibility
