We're seeking an experienced, collaborative, and enthusiastic individual to serve as the Head of Spoken Word Operations, overseeing the strategy and execution across North America, Latin America, and Spain. In this critical leadership role, you will manage a global team and work closely with cross-functional partners at Amazon Music to build meaningful relationships with external stakeholders, providing a best-in-class experience to our partners and ensuring creators are positioned for success on Amazon Music. You will lead the development and management of select priority partnerships in the United States, cultivating robust relationships with podcast creators, audiobook publishers and production teams. You will be responsible for ensuring a seamless, top-tier customer experience that exceeds expectations. Key job responsibilities

  • Manage and mentor a team of spoken word country managers, providing guidance, coaching, and professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product, finance, and legal, to align team efforts with broader business goals.
  • Manage regional events strategy and execution.
  • Develop scalable programs for mid and small-sized creators.
  • Manage podcast and audiobook partner portfolio, ensuing you and the team are providing a seamless white-glove customer experience by maintaining scheduled communications and alignment on cross-promotional opportunities.
  • Develop and coordinate creator education programs.
  • Negotiate and secure creative cross-promotional campaigns with creators, publishers and networks.
  • Develop and implement a multi-channel, multi-format content marketing plan that supports messaging priorities and aligns business goals.
  • Track campaigns and perform analyses as needed to monitor effectiveness; communicate results to key stakeholders.
  • Be an evangelist for spoken word content on AM, explaining the product and value prop to both experienced and emerging partners.
  • Execute promotional campaigns by coordinating approvals with partners.
  • Attract and build partnerships with creators, identifying imaginative ways to use Amazon Music tools to drive engagement with creators.
  • Work with Product team to encourage features that improve partnerships and creator tools.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of work experience in a content partnerships or marketing/promotions role with the ability to manage relationships with media executives and content creators.
  • People management experience, with proven ability to train and develop high-performing teams of 5 or more individuals
  • Excellent understanding of the spoken word/audio landscape including the publisher and creator ecosystems.
  • Ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations.
  • Self-starter who is customer obsessed, detail oriented, and an enthusiastic team player.
  • Ability to drive your own work independently, leading multiple projects with many stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving aggressive short, medium and long-term goals.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

The Whitney’s Academic Year Internship program offers a semester-long paid internship for undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled in an accredited academic program. The internship is hybrid, with some onsite work. For Spring 2025, interns commit between 16–21 hours per week over 10–12 weeks for a total of 200 hours. The official program dates will span from February 3, 2025 through April 18, 2025. Interns are assigned to a specific department at the Museum for the duration of the internship.

The Whitney seeks an Education: Spanish Initiatives intern for the Spring 2025 semester.

Expected Projects & Assignments

  • Work independently in research projects regarding Spanish resources, be able to work remotely and in person
  • Support and help in Spanish projects related to English-to-Spanish translation texts and editing, program descriptions, and more
  • Preferred but not limited of a native Spanish speaker, or with strong reading and writing skills in Spanish
  • Help and support the Associate Manager with Administrative and general duties, keeping track of expenses, receipts, and budgets

Skills & Qualifications

  • Undergraduates and graduates currently enrolled in accredited academic year programs are eligible
  • Applicants must have completed a minimum of one year’s worth of academic coursework; undergraduate freshmen are not eligible
  • While a demonstrated interest in art and art history is preferred, students in all majors are encouraged to apply
  • Previous museum experience is not required

Compensation

Interns will be paid a stipend of $3000.

Occupational Summary

Responsible for translating documents, educational materials, informational brochures, and other forms of communication, including, but not limited to, advertisement campaigns and other visual and social media used by the schools and District offices to the members of our Hispanic and/or Haitian community and school population.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

  • Provides interpretation, written translation and editing services in English and Spanish or English and Haitian-Creole for the district.
  • Exercises sensitivity to the culture of the language during the translation process.

Physical Requirements

This work requires the following physical activities: bending, twisting, reaching, sitting, mobility, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity. The work is performed indoors.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and one (1) year experience working directly in the field of translations, or Associate’s degree or equivalent education and three (3) years’ experience working directly in the field of translations.
  • Fully bilingual in written and oral language skills in English and Spanish or English and Haitian Creole.
  • Thorough knowledge of Miami-Dade County Public Schools’ educational programs, services and administrative organizations.

About the Lucha Program

Founded in 1997, AI Justice’s Lucha Program provides free legal representation to immigrant survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. The Lucha team confronts challenges faced by immigrant survivors through a combination of direct services and systemic advocacy. Lucha also plays a pivotal role in educating law enforcement and other government agencies at the local, state, and national levels about how to effectively support immigrant survivors of abuse and trafficking.

 

Spring 2024 Legal Externship Opportunities for the Lucha Program

Externs will have the opportunity to directly support the Lucha staff attorneys and clients by assisting with:

· Contacting potential clients for legal pre-screenings to determine eligibility for a legal consultation;

· Legal consultations under the supervision of an attorney;

· Gathering documentation and drafting personal statements on behalf of clients;

· Applications for relief such as VAWA Self-petitions, U-nonimmigrant status, T-nonimmigrant status, and any other immigration benefit for which a survivor may qualify;

· Preparing for legal proceedings, including before the immigration court and USCIS;

· Legal research and writing; and

· Know Your Rights presentations.

 

Qualifications

· • Fluency in Spanish or Haitian Creole is preferred

· • Currently enrolled at an accredited law school

· • Must be willing to submit to an extensive background check, including FBI, statewide repository, and sex offender registry check

About This Position

We are seeking two highly skilled and motivated Senior Translator/Reviser Specialists. One will translate from Spanish and either French or Portuguese (preferably both) into English, and the other will translate from English and either French or Portuguese (preferably both) into Spanish.

You will join the Translation and Documentation Section, the official translation service for the IDB Group. The Section is responsible for delivering high-quality language and documentation services to support the organization’s diverse and multilingual environment.

What You Will Do

  • Ensure translations are accurate, consistent, and follow IDB Group guidelines.
  • Maintain clarity and cultural relevance, meet deadlines, and handle complex terminology through research and consultation.
  • Translate a wide range of documents from Spanish/English, French, and/or Portuguese into English/Spanish, applying a high standard of linguistic and stylistic quality, within established deadlines.
  • Make effective use of relevant language technologies and tools and assist the Chief of the Translation and Documentation Section in promoting their utilization.
  • Engage collaboratively with other members of the Section to coordinate workload and ensure timely delivery of all translations assigned to the Section.
  • Contribute to in-house terminology files and style guides, collaborate with experts to validate terms, and lead efforts to identify new terminology and set standards.
  • Build enduring relationships with a large and active roster of freelance translators, providing them with technical guidance and feedback, and responding to queries on specific projects, and conduct periodic roster reviews.
  • Help to prepare and grade exams, onboard new translators, and mentor junior staff to help them develop technical expertise.
  • Provide on-demand advice to IDB Group staff on effective use of language and technical terminology.
  • Continuously seek to learn and develop own skills and knowledge relevant to the job.
  • Work independently with limited oversight and provide input to the Chief on special projects and activities.
  • Lead team members’ efforts to collect and analyze data, as appropriate, as input for data-‑driven planning, decision-making, presentations and reporting.
  • Acquire the necessary knowledge on administrative, workflow, Bank policies, and Section-specific procedures to be able to act on behalf of the Section Chief as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

What You Will Need

  • Education: Master’s degree or equivalent, preferably in translation. Substantive professional knowledge in finance, economics, international development, and/or law will be considered a plus.
  • Experience: At least seven (7) years of full-time experience in translation, and in the use of relevant language technologies, is required. Of these, four (4) years of experience in an international organization or a similar setting is desirable. At least three (3) years of experience revising translations done by others is required.
  • Languages: Native written command of English/Spanish (depending on the position), coupled with an excellent in-depth knowledge of Spanish/English and at least one, but preferably both, of the IDB Group’s two other official languages (French and Portuguese).

Candidates must be available to take a written competitive examination to assess their ability to leverage language fluency and knowledge of the IDB Group environment.

We are seeking a Java Developer to design and develop proprietary software in a highly secure and heavy transaction-based environment. We are looking for well-rounded developers who have a proven track record of delivering scalable and robust business applications. You must be capable of designing and developing new functionality as well as consistently producing on-going scheduled maintenance releases.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the Data Engineering team for data pipelines. Mostly sitting on top of Spark (real-time processing) and data lakes. This role is not focused on pipelines and APIs, but instead, data distribution and maintenance.
