The ETO Mechanical Engineer supports Engineer to Order product development and product sustaining tasks. The ETO Mechanical Engineer acts as a technical resource between internal groups, such as marketing, product management, application engineering, customer technical support, and manufacturing. The Associate Mechanical Engineer provides direct daily support to engineering groups by focusing on CAD Modeling, engineering documentation management, systems-entry, manufacturing reliability and other mechanical-related tasks necessary to fulfil customer order requirements without compromising quality or manufacturing capabilities.

The ETO Mechanical Engineer supports Engineer to Order and product sustaining tasks for the company’s Global Rack & Edge Thermal products.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides technical support to internal Vertiv functions - marketing, sales, application engineering, customer technical support and service, and manufacturing.
  • Understands the products, suggesting ideas and improvements back to group.
  • Assists with creation, reviewing, and systems-entry of new product specifications, ECNs, tests, procedures, user manuals, submittal drawings, and sales literature.
  • Engineering documentation management through different corporate systems as ERP and PLM.
  • Review new orders manufacturing feasibility.
  • Creates/modifies mechanical drawings/parts in CAD systems, such as CREO.
  • Assists with troubleshooting of escalated or re-occurring field issues.
  • Performs lab testing of products.
  • Works closely with technicians and junior engineers, providing technical support and guidance.
  • Education & Certifications:

    Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

    Requirements:

  • 7 years of engineering product development or support experience.
  • Significant Sheetmetal design experience
  • Working knowledge of mechanical concepts, products, safety and test-methods.
  • Ability to follow, create, and organize testing and instructional procedures.
  • Data-entry systems familiarity & Bill of Material Creation Experience - Oracle, Agile, etc.
  • Basic mechanical CAD tools experience. MBD (Model Based Definition) experience preferred CREO preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve (and prevent) a wide range of problems quickly and logically.
  • Excellent planning, organizing, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and operate in cross functional Global Development Teams.
  • Ability to work in multiple projects.
  • Fluency in English
  • Basic electrical experience a plus
