Oviedo Medical Center, the new 64-bed acute care hospital, provides a full range of healthcare services to east Seminole County and surrounding communities. Services include medical and surgical inpatient units, intensive care, medical cardiology, telemetry, cardiac catheterization, inpatient and outpatient surgery, women’s services including labor and delivery, cardiopulmonary services, comprehensive diagnostic imaging and 24/7 emergency care. Oviedo Medical Center is designed with the patient in mind with personalized care, all private rooms and the newest medical technology available. Oviedo Medical Center is located at the intersection of Red Bug Lake Road and State Road 426.

Oviedo Medical Center is currently seeking an OR Assistant to join our Operating Room team.  This position is PRN, As Needed.

Position Description

• Assists RN/Charge RN/LPN with direct patient care, as requested, i.e., moving, aligning, and positioning patient according to established policy, ensuring patient safety and comfort at all times.  Assists with patient prep under the supervision of the RN/Charge RN/LPN, as requested.

• Provides intra-hospital patient transportation to the OR/holding area, safely and according to policy and procedure.

• Contributes to a culture of patient centered care by ensuring a quiet healing environment.

Qualifications

Position Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Current BLS or BLS instructor through the American Heart Association

• Skills: Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills.
