I am looking for an outstanding Field P25 Radio Technician/Engineer

RELOCATE TO CITY OF SANTA MARIA/COUNTY OF SANTA BARBARA, CA


MUST Have Experience in p25 Radio equipment/tower.
Will have to onsite, most likely Tower climbing will be outsourced or minimal.
Your job will be to oversee the Software Services, having onsite hardware install and knowledge is preferred.
You will be the technician on the software servers and hardware communication with local Police, Fire and City Officials with their Radio Communication.
Oversees and coordinates the continuous, multifaceted daily operations of the City’s regional 700/800 MHz P25 and legacy VHF/UHF public safety radio system which provides integrated radio communications for Law Enforcement, Fire, Code Enforcement, Utilities, Public Works and Transit operations.

The Field P25 Radio Technician/Engineer, should be able to meet the following requirements:

PREFERRED EXP is MOTOROLA P25
Serves as primary onsite radio technician for all radio and dispatch equipment.
· Performs the maintenance, operation and repair of the City’s public safety radio system, conventional radio system, and microwave network.
· Ensures radio system compliance with relevant standards, department policies, federal and state laws and regulations.
· Responsible for ensuring backups and backup validation of applicable components is completed.
· Provisions, programs, repairs and maintains portable radio equipment including mobile radios, handhelds, and mobile data computers.
Coordinates with the FCC, vendors, contractors, and other agencies regarding technical and administrative planning, procurement, installation, operation, and maintenance of radio systems.
· Prepares system reports to assess, diagnose and monitor system performance.
· Reviews and initiates purchases of radio equipment operating on the City’s radio system.
Motorola certifications for APX radios (any)
