Primary Function

Create production documentation for customer specific orders. Translate electrical and mechanical specifications into a cost effective quality product consistent with established codes, reliability standards and corporate business demands

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Designs with supervision special and standard products, options and customer specific order manufacturing documentation. Manufacturing documentation includes mechanical packaging, electrical schematics and bills of materials.

Knowledge of relay logic, PLC’s and associated controls and NEC code will be needed to do this work.

Create accurate production documentation using CAD a nd other business specific systems.

Participates in new product design beginning with the design concept to final product specification.

Processes customer change requests relevant to the customer order engineering documentation

Ability to work on multiple projects while maintaining customer delivery dates.

Education/Qualifications

Associated degree in computer aided design (CAD) preferable with AutoCAD / AutoCAD Electrical experience with equivalent of 5+ years in motor control design with AutoCAD Electrical experience working in a manufacturing environment.

Experience with Inventor, Solidworks and AutoCAD Electrical. 

Excellent working knowledge of electrical and mechanical industry codes and how they relate to motor control technology

Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet and data base management software.

Ability to work alone and with minimum supervision

Knowledge of electrical codes, industry specifications and motor control technology considered a plus.

Managing multiple projects and completing assignments in a timely manner while supporting monthly production goals.

Adapting quickly to last minute changes while still meeting project deadlines.

Finding design solutions that meet conflicting objectives for small size, dense packaging and maintaining thermal/voltage tolerances that comply with all codes and industry standards.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

Work Environment: 90% of time spent in an office/manufacturing environment using computer equipment. Under certain conditions, time may be required to be in close proximity where lethal voltages may be present. Strict adherence to corporate safety standards is required.

Physical Effort: Requires sitting for long periods of time performing the job responsibilities using a computer and monitor. Occasionally requires lifting of light objects on the manufacturing floor.

Mental Effort: Rapid decision making to meet customer demands requires prolonged concentration. Pressure situations arise where the ability to act quickly and make decisions based on limited information is required to meet customer/production deadlines.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills are required to effectively communicate with all levels of the business structure.

Sensory Abilities: Ability to see along with manual dexterity to use computer equipment. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential tasks.
