The 2025-26 Broadcast and Streaming Intern will assist the Communications team in providing quality customer support across the Florida Panthers online streaming service, Panthers Plus, as well as leading on-the-ground broadcast tune-in campaigns throughout the South Florida community. We’re looking for an experienced editor to join MSNBC Digital’s new live blog team, a key part of our breaking news and blogs initiative. This role focuses primarily on political news, with additional coverage of breaking stories and select trending topics. The ideal candidate will have excellent news judgment, a deep understanding of journalistic standards and the ability to consistently uphold MSNBC’s tone and editorial values.

• Check that scripts align with approved source material, and confirm video and font information is correct
• Format scripts properly with production cues for the control room and directorial team
• Occasionally write scripts and take an active role in preparing the editorial rundown
• Write and line produce segments or shows as needed, particularly during breaking news or high-volume shifts
• Contribute to network-wide editorial excellence by pointing out errors or discrepancies in scripts, wires, or on-air content
• Understand video production processes and contribute to video editing tasks if needed, ensuring scripts align perfectly with on-screen visuals and sound

Your Qualifications & Experience…
• 5+ years of full-time experience in broadcast news writing and/or editing
• Four-year college degree or equivalent professional newsroom experience
• Expert-level editing skills with a strong grasp of accuracy, tone, balance, and style
• Proven ability to produce high-quality, deadline-driven content quickly and efficiently
• Strong adaptability—able to pivot during breaking news, match anchor styles, and rewrite on the fly
• Team-oriented, enthusiastic, and proactive approach to collaboration
• Familiarity with CNN’s Stylebook, editorial standards, and font coding preferred
• Comfortable taking initiative and leading the scriptwriting process across segments
• A solid understanding of video production and the ability to edit video if needed to ensure visual and editorial cohesion

Your New Role...
The Writer/Producer in this role plays a critical editorial and production role, handling a variety of key tasks that are essential to the success of the daily program.
Your Role Accountabilities...
• Writing clear, concise, and compelling scripts for news segments, intros, teases, and anchor copy under tight deadlines.
• Producing live and taped segments from pitch to execution — including research, scripting, selecting visual elements, and coordinating graphics and video.
• The position also requires proficiency in non-linear video editing, with the ability to quickly produce high-impact content under deadline pressure.
• Managing rundowns and show elements when needed, and filling in for copy editor, line producer, and video producer.
Your Qualifications & Experience...
• 5 or more years full time broadcast news writing or reporting preferred.
• A bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field of study is preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Excellent writing skills and an ability to produce quality work quickly.
• Must have the ability to enterprise ideas and work well independently and with a team.
• Requires a creative thinker with the ability to find new and entertaining ways to present information, new angles to approach stories, and the organization skills to bring it all together.
• Outstanding news judgment, critical and strategic thinking are critical for the position.
• Must be able to work an extended schedule as the news cycle and deadlines require.

Your New Role…
The successful candidate will direct and shape CNN’s Latin American news coverage across multiple platforms. You will be an experienced and strong editorial leader who has a passion for Latin American news, outstanding editorial judgement, and extensive experience in leading a strong team of journalists in a high-pressure and fast-moving environment.
Based in Atlanta, the position reports to the Vice President of International Newsgathering.
Your Role Accountabilities…
Identify, set, and oversee daily editorial news priorities for CNN. From text-based output on digital platforms, internal news alerts to video products for digital platforms and linear and streaming platforms.
Manage a team of reporters and editors, prioritizing assignments, and directing reporting targets.
Manage the overall editorial process from story conception to reporting, writing, editing and publishing.
Ensuring that accurate editorial is reflected across all CNN platforms.
Leading coverage of major breaking news, coordinating platforms and marshalling resources for best-in-class coverage.
Be a central point of contact for network needs on Latin American stories, communicating with editorial partners across CNN to ensure editorial consistency.
Ensure all available resources from all parts of newsgathering are being used effectively and creatively toward reporting efforts.
Provide guidance and support to editors, helping them shape stories for maximum impact.
Liaise with directors of video on story priorities.
Represent international teams in editorial meetings.
Demonstrate strong leadership skills.
Qualifications & Experience…
At least 10+ years of relevant working experience in the media, digital media or new industry.
Demonstrable management experience.
Exceptional knowledge and understanding of global news.
Strong editorial vision and drive and with proven expertise in Latin American news and digital editorial strategies.
Demonstrable experience and expertise in digital best practices.
Proven track record for creativity and innovation and the production of distinctive multi-platform content in coordination with multiple departments/teams.
Bilingual (Spanish/English).
Ability to juggle competing priorities and execute against deadlines.
Experience at putting strategic goals into practice.
Exceptional understanding of real-time and longer term metrics and how to use them to drive audience growth.
Fast and accurate writing skills.
Capable of collaborating across time zones.
Flexible and able to operate in a fast-changing and exciting environment.
Desire to make CNN innovative and distinctive.
Desire to work in and further develop a diverse working environment.
