Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Report Writer / Data Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain data-driven reports and dashboards that support decision-making across various business units, including Finance, HR, Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, and Operations. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into actionable insights.

This job will require availability Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm PST.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain reports and dashboards using tools such as PowerBI, and SQL - Crystal Reports is valued.
  • Extract, transform, and analyze data from SQL databases to meet reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and understand reporting requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of reports delivered to various departments.
  • Conduct data validation and troubleshoot issues to ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries for performance and scalability.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Serve as a liaison between technical teams and business units, facilitating effective communication and understanding of reporting needs.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in data analytics and reporting tools.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in report writing, data analysis, or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in SQL, including query writing and database management, and SQL Server Reporting Services.
  • Hands-on experience with Power BI (or similar reporting tools).
  • Strong understanding of relational databases and data visualization principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python) or DAX for advanced data analysis.
  • Knowledge of business operations and processes in departments such as Finance, HR, Sales, and Operations.
  • Experience with data integration and ETL processes.
  • Certifications in Power BI, SQL, or related technologies.

General Purpose

The Service Aide- Intern assists Park Managers, Assistant Park Managers, and maintenance personnel in routine park operation and maintenance tasks. This position is responsible for safety of park facilities and enforcement of all park rules and regulations.
 
This internship is designed to provide students enrolled in high school with practical work experience. Individuals employed in this class receive training and experience in a variety of beginning level processes and tasks to help prepare them for future careers in government.

 

Supervision Received and Exercised

Work schedules will be in compliance with all applicable statutory requirements under child labor and wage/hour laws.

Schedules may include weekends, holidays and irregular hours.

This position is classified as a non-exempt, part-time position, with a schedule of less then 29 hours per week. 
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

RECREATION DIVISION

  • Performs general maintenance and clean up duties at the park which include, but not limited to, the emptying of trash receptacles, sweeping, mopping and vacuuming floors, wiping down tables, chairs and other furnishings, replenishing toilet paper and hand towels, and cleaning concession area, restrooms and fields.
  • Assists with setup and breakdown of City sanctioned events and activities. 
  • Learns to perform routine inspections of park facilities for hazards to ensure the safety of the public and park facilities.
  • Enforces safety and other park rules and regulations; administers first aid as required.
  • Learns to Coach, officiate, and keep score of games during various City sanctioned sports leagues.
  • Assists in organizing and administering recreational programming when needed.
  • Supports operations by handling telephone inquiries, greeting visitors, and providing information.
  • Assists in organizing a wide variety of recreational activities.
Additional Duties:
  • Performs other related work as required.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND TRAINING

This position is classified as a non-exempt, part-time position with a 28-hour or less work-week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

Essential Functions:

  • Continuously monitor swimmers and pool activities to identify potential hazards and prevent accidents.
  • Enforces pool rules and regulations consistently and firmly to maintain a safe and orderly environment.
  • Responds promptly to any signs of distress or emergencies, including water rescues, administering CPR, and first aid.
  • Maintains accurate and detailed records of incidents, interventions, and observations.

  • A comparable combination of the listed qualifications may be considered if no other successful candidates are identified for the position, subject to the discretion of the City Manager. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND STANDARDS REQUIRED

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be fluent in the English language.  Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus.
  • Must have current Lifeguard Training Certification. Understanding of water safety principles, including drowning prevention, rescue techniques, and emergency response procedures.
  • Knowledge of CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), AED (Automated External Defibrillator) operation, and basic First Aid techniques.
