• Led all financial & administration responsibilities of the Group, related to control and reporting in the Country Leading Food and Consumer Goods Importer and distribution Company. Oversaw P&L of aprox half a Billion dollars and total of 1,900 staff. I used to have directly 10 managers and close to 135 staff in the finance operations. • Relations with GM’s and CFO’s of the main Customers Stakeholders and Strategic Suppliers, such as Unilever, Mondelez, Kellogs, J&J, etc. • Led the purchase/acquisition (M&A) of Calox (third Panama Distributor/Wholesale Operator), closing the business successfully. • Restructured the bank debt strengthening its balance sheet and the incorporation of a Logistics Operator model to the main suppliers, managing to improve EBTIDA%, by 129%.
• Leads all financial functions in this multinational group with over 30 operating companies in 9 countries; Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Panama, Dominican Rep., Mexico, Dubai, and Pakistan. • Drives financial strategy for two divisions of the group: Textiles and Real Estate. • Also manages project finance, internal control, improving processes and leads OpEx saving initiatives and projects that considers “sweating the assets” (maximize the selling process of raw material and obsolete inventory). The main reason of leaving was due to a better offer in Dicarina.
• Led financial reporting and control for the entire business including Mobile, B2B, Pay TV and Tigo Money / M-wallet. Oversaw P&L of 620m USD and a total of 2.6k staff. The finance operation consisted of eleven Managers and 310 staff in Bank Relations & Loans Management, Treasury / Cash Management, Planning & Reporting (FP&A), Accounting & Controlling, Supply Chain Management & Procurement, Credit & Collections, Internal Control, Revenue Assurance, Billing Operations, Tax Planning, Compliance Management, Insurance and Risk Management. • Drove the USD 10 Million Plan; a successful cross-company cost saving project. • Achieved first place in the Internal Control Index amongst 14 group country operations: eight in LATAM and six in Africa. Honduras was 13th just one year before. • Also led IFRS implementation; worked closely with Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) in Spain.
