Manage all Sample Center activities to bring services to the different business units at BASF, coordinating daily operations and requirements related to Import, Export and Domestic deliveries for Mexico, Central America and Caribbean:  Design and implement logistics strategies improving operation efficiency and keeping low costs.  Manage all vendors/ suppliers related to Sample Center supply chain operation.  Train and manage the Sample Center Team.  Analyze and suggest “best logistics practices” to all Business Units to accomplish BASF policies and national and international laws and regulations.

Enable Customs operation and Foreign Trade processes to guarantee compliance to national, international, and in-house regulations, safeguarding the company from sanctions or penalties and to secure the proper flow of chain supply:  Procure and manage customs and logistics service providers, consulting services and others related to Foreign Trade.  Monitor and tracking of every purchase order, from placement to delivery in Costa Rica.  Manage certificate of origin and import permits prior merchandise arrival.

Overseeing the department, providing cost projections about how logistics variables will affect the final cost of the imported items, once transported from origin location to each distribution center in Central America:  Centralizing customs classifications for imported merchandise in the region to verify HTS codes are properly utilized at the time of entry.  Monitor and report to the logistics chain of command requests, assignment, use and return of tariff quotas submitted by each country.

Develops strategies to create new business, expand business territories and fulfill business quotas:  Share market analysis, provide weekly sales summaries to senior management highlighting new business, returning business, and at-risk business.

Lead the export department supporting air and ocean freight trade services, products, and operations:  Develop a logistics solution according to customer´s needs for every commercial account.  Coordinate the team to place and track purchase orders to ensure the shipment are received accordingly with the due date.  Dangerous Goods Coordinator and Auditor.  Automatic Manifest System (AMS) and Importer Security Filing (ISF) super user.
