POSITION SUMMARY:

• Under general supervision, leads the group of production employees in current department who are responsible for setting up and operating all equipment in the production process.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure that all production staff follow established company policies
• Ensures that all production staff adheres to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), quality policies, work instructions, material preparation procedures, visual aids, and inspection procedures as applicable
• Ensure that all production staff fill out proper documentation (i.e. traveler, production ticket, daily production report, process verification sheet, etc.)
• Establishes production schedules and revises them as necessary
• Monitors the production operations for quality and efficiency to ensure the established goals and objectives are achieved
• Disciplines employees and recommends termination when necessary
• Maintains attendance logs and approves bi-weekly payroll
• Holds regularly scheduled meetings to communicate with staff
• Responsible for performance of the department on the assigned shift
• Ensures that proper quality procedures and work instructions are in effect and are being closely followed by all employees
• Conduct interviews of candidates for hire and participate in the selection process
• Perform/assists all functions of subordinate positions as required
• Recommends changes to work procedures and ISO documentation
• Follow all established health and safety policies
• Communicate with supervisors as well as other employees
• Maintain a clean and organized work station
• Other duties as assigned

ADDITIONAL DUTIES FOR MOLDING DEPARTMENT:

• Set up and process all molding machines and related auxiliary equipment
• Document all processes with machine setup sheets as needed
• Plan and prepare work schedules and assigns employees to specific duties
• Responsible for the training and cross training of all assigned shift molding personnel
• Ensure all molded product setups are correct and up to date per mold and machine
• Ensure mold maintenance is completed as needed
• Ensure production schedule is executed to plan
• Confirm quality of molding products being produced
• Responsible for daily cleaning on all production related equipment in the molding area
• Order production supplies as needed
• 1-2 years proven technical injection molding experience

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:

• Thorough knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices
• Dependability and ability to adapt to change are essential
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred
• Ability to direct, motivate, and manage a staff
• Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels 
• Ability to exercise good judgment in evaluating situations and proposing solutions 
• Ability to identify areas of opportunity within the department that will result in efficiencies and improvements that add value to the organization
• Must be detail oriented 
• Good leadership, analytical and interpersonal skills
• May be required to operate company owned or leased vehicles and trucks
• Must have safe driving record, valid driver’s license and be able to pass DMV background check

OTHER REQUIREMENTS (SPECIALIZED):

• Be able to trouble shoot mechanical problems with equipment
• Basic computer skills for using scanners and other equipment
• Basic computer skills, including data entry, Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint as applicable
• Ability to use office equipment including phone, fax, copier

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma/GED OR equivalent work experience at the discretion of the Hiring Manager
• Advanced coursework preferred

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILTIES:

• Minimum 3 – 5 years leading directing the activities of a team
• Will direct day to day activities of team under guidance of assigned manager
