Job Description
The Bernhard Superintendent's primary purpose is to provide overall direction for field installation of assigned project. Owns direct responsibility for “field labor, labor coordination, quality control, and safety” on assigned project. Represents Bernhard on the project site and insures that the installation functions as designed and satisfies the contracted scope. The Superintendent must be specialized in the areas of hospitals.
Principal Duties & Accountabilities:
Totally accountable for quality installation of the project Reviewing submittals for accuracy and compliancy Identifying potential change orders Customer relations Conduct weekly safety meetings Attend cost/job reviews Schedule manpower and also responsible for hiring workers Interpret plumbing and HVAC drawings for craft installation Plan, schedule, and coordinate on-site functions Perform material take-offs, ordering tools, materials, and equipment in a timely fashion to maximize field productivity Coordination of installation between trades and coordinate sub-contractor progress Ensure all on-site employees comply with OSHA standards & Bernhard work rules Schedule equipment deliveries with GC and periodic inspections by governing authorities Administer construction contract Monitor labor reporting, job cost reviews and prepare time sheets and two week look a heads Bring the job in on time and under budget Skills & Requirements
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
5-10 years verifiable experience as an HVAC and Plumbing Superintendent and state HVAC and plumbing license At least 5 years experience in LARGE ($15M+) commercial construction (hospitals) Proven leadership and supervisory skills Team Player Organizational and planning skills Must be detailed oriented At least 6 months of safety training Other state licenses a plus Must have med-gas experience Bernhard is an equal employment opportunity employer.
