Summary:

The Rightpath Research & Innovation Center is looking for an Applications Specialist to identify, build and maintain the electronic tools necessary to conduct federal grant-based research studies. Primary responsibilities include creating and maintaining demographic databases used for the tracking of research participants, programming the electronic assessments and experiments given to these participants, and working with field staff to troubleshoot issues.

Duties:

  • Data entry of consent information into database system.
  • Learn to score research assessments.
  • Support for general office duties, email, and assist with preparation of meeting materials.
  • Participate in CITI training per human subject’s research regulations and USF Institutional Review Board (IRB) policies and procedures.
  • Program experimental tasks in Millisecond Inquisit.
  • Assist with creating and maintaining databases according to specifications using Microsoft Access, RedCap, or related software.
  • Assist with testing and debugging all solutions on different devices;
  • Assist with identifying and evaluating potential solutions to address those requirements, including third-party software.
  • Attend lab meetings, if needed.
  • Average Number of Hours per Week: 15 - 20 hours per week

    Schedule: Monday through Friday. There is flexibility to accomadate the FWS student's course schedule. Please note that work cannot be scheduled in conflict with classes.

    Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite
  • At least a sophomore at USF

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in computer programming (e.g., Java, C#, JavaScript, Python).
  • Prior office experience.
