SCHEDULE: Full-time

POSITION SUMMARY:  

Underthe direction of the department director, the Sepsis Coordinator coordinates, develops and implements the GCRMCSepsis Program.  Collects and analyzesboth patient and program outcomes through data collection to assist withdocumentation, coding, clinical care and outcomes.  Acts as a leader to provide clinicalrecommendations and coordination of the Sepsis Program in a collaborative teamapproach to accomplish goals.  Assuresadherence to standards for regulatory compliance.  Accesses, develops and coordinates staff,patient education and physician education related to the Sepsis Program. Scopeof practice also includes providing organized care to the sepsis patient withfocus on health promotion and disease prevention.  Follows policies and procedures ofGCRMC. Refines the Sepsis protocol and program to participate in the QualityImprovement process. Adheres to GCRMC values and I.C.A.R.E. standards ofbehavior.

 

The Sepsis Coordinator works in conjunction with theClinical and/or department Leaders and Advanced Nurse Educator(s), to plan,organize, implement, and oversee the skill and program development of the staffof GCRMC.  The Sepsis Coordinator,provides the opportunity to advance the professional development of both astable and diverse group of experienced and knowledgeable nurses, as well asorient and train nurses new to GCRMC. The Sepsis Coordinator participates innew hire orientation. The Sepsis Coordinator works in conjunction with thequality department and key program metrics to determine improvement strategiesand educational gaps.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • AssociateDegree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma froman accredited institution requiredBachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Current Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license required; or appropriate compact licensure. AdvancedNurse Practitioner license acceptable.
  • Two years of clinical/technical experience inthe assigned area
  • Charge nurse/front line supervisor/educatorexperienced preferred
