Job Title Senior Specialist, Legal Services CA Overview Responsible for providing paralegal and contract administrative support to legal specialists and legal generalists to enable MasterCard to achieve its strategic objectives. Will be responsible for bringing legal support for the 3 new clusters in Central America (composed by 7 countries): Cluster 1. Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Honduras Cluster 2. Panama and El Salvador Cluster 3. Guatemala and Belize Responsibilities • Drafts, reviews and prepares routine legal agreements, documents, contracts, usually leveraging established templates, may negotiate routine contracts under attorney supervision • Checks for discrepancies and inconsistencies in documents, contracts and matters; makes suggestions for resolution and works to incorporate final amendments • Manages the administration of the document management system; including tracking, compiling and disseminating information on a regular basis • Acts as a resource to colleagues to ensure compliance to established governance policies related to maintenance of documents and data • Participate in internal and external meetings and negotiations with attorneys and cross functional projects/matters • Prepares materials for training sessions and/or events conducted by the law department; including providing on-site assistance • Responds to and answers routine internal inquiries on specialty program (e.g., Patent Program) • Manage agreement templates to ensure current MasterCard standard terms and conditions are appropriately updated • Tracks trademark applications clearance, opposition and infringement process (dockets) and reports results of applications • Monitors invention disclosure process and reviews patent filings to post-filings to ensure efficiency Experiences • Identified and communicated client revisions on ongoing legal matters • Experience drafting, interpreting, and summarizing documents, contracts, and templates • Experience using legal software and documents management system (e.g., contracts, patent, business governance, etc.) • Experience in sourcing and procurement is a plus, but not required Due to COVID-19, most of our employees are working from home.
