The Regional Vice President, Primary Care Sales is responsible for driving profitable, above market sales and GP dollar growth of McKesson Medical-Surgical’s Primary Care business, achieved through strategic planning and leadership. The incumbent will define the long-term strategic goals, improve the organization’s market position, achieve financial growth above market rates, identify new business opportunities, and maintain extensive knowledge of market conditions. This leader will drive sales through a team of subordinate Area Sales Managers and Account Executives. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, communicate and execute long-term business strategy and business plan. Establishment and implementation of effective sales strategies.
  • Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly and annual revenue targets. Evaluate financial results and establish action plans to achieve any shortfall.
  • Responsible for the establishment of strong C-suite and supplier partner relationships, alliances with R&D companies, and the development and marketing of product and service offerings to achieve sales growth.
  • Provide leadership, vision, support and oversight to the PC sales team to achieve sales targets.
  • Responsible for working cross functionally with the legal, marketing, sales support, pricing, reimbursement services, McKesson Brand, accounts receivable, customer systems and operational teams to effectively deliver the McKesson value proposition while maintaining profitability and corporate compliance.
  • Responsible for achieving annual MBOs and driving company critical initiatives. 
  • Analyzes customer penetration, performance and margin contribution, strategically assessing areas for future growth and penetration that support the value-proposition and improves bottom-line results.
  • Minimum Requirements

  • Ten or more years of sales/sales management experience, including profit & loss experience
  • Critical Skills

  • A visionary, strategic leader with knowledge and experience selling to the physician market
  • Successful experience leading a sales force to achieve/exceed established sales goals
  • Strong cultural leader with experience delivering results and providing company’s critical initiatives
  • Additional Knowledge & Skills

  • Prior general management experience strongly desirable
  • Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Physical Requirements

  • Often requires long work days or weeks with 30-50% travel
  • Environment

  • Home based position which requires residence within a metro area within the region (GA, FL, NC, SC).
