The Inpatient Rehab Nurse providesdirect nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures andprotocols of the healthcare organization. The tasks and responsibilitiesinclude:

• Carries out physician orders andassesses plans to administer patient care
• Utilizing computerized documentationsystems and monitors vital signs
• Monitors, records and communicatespatient condition as appropriate
• Administers medications, changesdressings, and cleans wounds
• Serves as the primary coordinator ofall disciplines for patient care
• Follows Standard Precautions usingpersonal protective equipment
• Coordinates discharge planning needswith members as needed
• Instructs and educates patients andfamilies
• Provides age and culturallyappropriate care
• Orients and mentors new staffmembers

1+ Years of experience as a RN in an Acute Care settingrequired

Customer service abilities includingeffective listening skills. Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and theability to work with minimal supervision in a fast pacedenvironment. Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing,bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipmentup to 50 pounds.

Our facility recently underwent a $1 millionrenovation project that includes renovated patient rooms and state-of-the-arttherapy equipment for stroke, brain, and spinal cord injury rehabilitation.This equipment includes the area’s only Balance Master, Dynavision VisumonitorSystem, Interactive Metronome, the Walkaide System, the Electrical StimulationCycle for Arms and Legs, and the SureHands System. We are the onlyrehabilitation facility in our community to have invested in these latestadvances for rehabilitation therapy.

West Florida Hospital is a 515 bed facility and the only Atrial Fibrillation Certified hospital. WFH hasalso been honored as a Truven Top 100 Hospital and just recently received theirJoint Commission Sepsis accreditation.  Additionally, WFH was the area's firstAccredited Chest Pain Center with PCI and Breast Imaging Center of Excellence.We are also an Advanced Primary Stroke Center.
