SCHEDULE: Full-time



Gulf Coast RegionalMedical Center is a 216-bed acute care hospital proudly serving Bay County andsurrounding communities for 40 years. With the areas only designated Pediatric ER,four-bed Pediatric ICU and 28-bed NICU, the hospital is ready to care for ouryoungest residents.

 

The hospital has the only Accredited Chest Pain Center withPrimary PCI as recognized by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care.Additionally, the hospital’s cancer program is accredited by the Commission onCancer and the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC). Thesedesignations enhance the hospital’s quality of care and demonstrate itscommitment to higher, measurable standards of care.

 
Qualifications
 

Currentlicense as a RN

 

Currentcertification as a BLS and ACLS Healthcare Provider

 

Graduateof an accredited school of professional nursing

 

2+years of experience as a RN in a acute care setting required

 

Customerservice abilities including effective listening skills. Critical thinkingskills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in afast paced environment.

 

Abilityto perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting,kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds.

 
POSITION SUMMARY 

The Department Charge Nurse is aRegistered Nurse who is accountable to the Nursing Director for clinical andoperations functions of an assigned unit. The Charge Nurse assumes the responsibility of managing the unit’sclinical and operations activities in the absence of the Director.

 

ESSENTIALCORE FUNCTIONS


Coordinatespatient placement within the unit according to acuity, skill mix and staffavailability. Assists inidentifying and addressing educational needs of the unit along withcoordinating staff education. Recognizeswhen staff are in crisis and facilitates interventions to assist. Facilitatesrounding with physicians.

Keepsinformed of patient condition changes, making appropriate clinical decisions. Manages patient flow and ensures staffturn-over rooms efficiently.

Participates in the day-to-dayoperations of the department, under the supervision of the Director
