SHIFT: No Weekends

SCHEDULE: Full-time

Up to $5,000 sign-on bonus!  For eligible candidates. Must have a minimum of 1 year acute care experience.


POSITION SUMMARY:  The Risk Management Coordinator is responsiblefor the hospital's risk management activities which may include but is notlimited to the Essential Core Functions outlined below:


ESSENTIALCORE FUNCTIONS:

  • Workwith defense legal counsel and the DCCP to coordinate claim investigations,staff interviews;
  • Processclaims against the facility; including coordination with the DCCP forpreparation of records, documents while maintaining privilege of PSWP;
  • Overseethe coordination of property loss or assets;
  • Overseecomplaint and grievance process and necessary tracking for compliance withregulatory entities;
  • Managenon-HCI cases: accept/process subpoenas, NOI’s, visitor events, property lossor theft, etc;
  • Assistthe Patient Safety Director with administering the Patient Safety Program on aday-to-day basis;
  • Exhibitthe ability to manage and analyze patient safety/risk management data from aplethora of sources: Sullivan, Leapfrog, Meditech, SHARP, CHOIS, Healthstream,internal and other external data bases, CSG Portal source data;
  • Collaboratewith organizational departments to facilitate harm prevention activities toinclude falls work groups, safety committees, etc.
  • Maintaintimely monthly oversight of departmental metrics within safety data scorecardthrough application of various data sources
  • Incoordination with Patient Safety/Risk Management Director, provide staff andothers with educational programs that are founded on data driven internalinformation and align with evidence based safety practices consistent withnational practice standards;
  • Complywith The Joint Commission's risk managementand patient safety standards and take steps to ascertain that risks areminimized through follow-up and actions on all regulatory / insurance surveyreport recommendations / deficiencies;
  • Reviewand formulate policy and organizational changes, making recommendations asnecessary;
  • Clearlyarticulate ideas and patient safety concepts in non-judgmental andnon-confrontational ways;
  • Utilizeleadership and team-building skills to participate in the work of patientsafety and assist Patient Safety Director with change management;
  • Displayintegrity to maintain effectives and build the trust that is essential to thehonesty and transparency of the Patient Safety Program; 
  • Maintaina current, up-to-date understanding of risk reduction and patient safety theory,methods, standards and regulatory requirements is essential along with acommitment to lifelong learning to maintain expertise in a rapidly changingfield. 
  • Completethe work of patient safety/risk management department with the objective ofadvancing patient safety and abating risk within the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Relatedfield required
  • Current Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license required; or appropriate compact licensure. AdvancedNurse Practitioner license acceptable.
  • Minimumof one (1) year healthcare related experience
  • Qualityor risk management experience preferred
