Job Description:
Typical laboratory duties may include but are not limited to:
- Organize and maintain inventories in the lab, order and organize lab supplies, etc.
- Preparation of bacteriological media
- Grow, store and organize a bacterial collection
- Perform experiments in the greenhouse/growth chamber
- Perform basic molecular biological techniques (DNA extraction, PCRs)
Expected Salary:
$12.00 - $15.00 per hour
Minimum Requirements:
• Excellent organizational skills, initiative, attention to detail, ability to write correspondence and reports required
• Interests in relevant topics (e.g. plant pathology, phytobacteriology, sustainable agriculture, molecular biology)
Preferred Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in biology, microbiology and cell science, plant science or related fields preferred but not required
