ABOUT THE POSITION:

This is a professional-technical position reporting directly to the Vice President, Institutional Effectiveness, Accreditation, and Research. This position plays a key role in state and federal reporting, accreditation, and institutional research activities. The position is responsible for advanced and diverse work within the department. This includes organizing research requests, managing and submitting data files, preparing reports, coordinating institutional surveys, extracting and analyzing data from College systems, and assisting with the verification of data for state and federal reporting. In addition, the position provides assistance to the department in support of the college’s Planning Council, the Institutional Effectiveness Council, assessment committees, and SACSCOC reaffirmation processes. This position requires close collaboration with a variety of College stakeholders. The individual in this position is expected to utilize high level organizational, communication, and critical thinking skills in addition to independent judgment in making decisions within the realm of their responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES: 

  • Collects information from college departments and assists with the assembly, preparation, tracking, and transmission of documents in a timely manner for state and ad hoc reporting.
  • Assists in verification of data for state database reporting including Student database, Personnel database, Facilities database, Annual Personnel Report (APR), and ad hoc reports.
  • Develops and tracks database reporting timelines and expedites college-wide departmental compliance of data input and correction to satisfy required deadlines.
  • Organizes requests for institutional data and research projects from internal and external stakeholders and develops schedules to ensure their timely completion.
  • Manages and maintains electronic data files and submits them to and from state and/or federal data centers.
  • Designs and prepares reports, forms, charts, charts, tables, and graphs using institutional and research data.
  • Prepares and reviews institutional and research data for publications to be distributed to internal departments and external stakeholders.
  • Organizes, compiles, and enters data in conjunction with various institutional research projects.
  • Collaborates on the production of diverse data, research, and survey reports.
  • Develops and maintains electronic spreadsheets and/or dashboards of database data, enrollment/FTE data, and research information.
  • Extracts and analyzes data from the College’s ERP/student information system.
  • Collaborates with College stakeholders as necessary to complete tasks and achieve departmental objectives.
  • Prepares publications and multi-media presentations for Board, Planning Council, and other College Committees.
  • Coordinates deployment of institutional surveys.
  • Prepares and gathers documents for institutional accreditation activities.
  • Assist in editing publications containing College data to be distributed to internal departments and external stakeholders.
  • Serves on standing committees in support of the College’s mission, vision, goals, and core values.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat with proficiency in operating these programs.
  • Ability to use spreadsheet and relational database software programs.
  • Familiarity using higher education ERP software and student information systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of data, files, and personnel information.
  • Required Education:

    A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university is required.

    Preferred Education:

    Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in education, statistics, quantitative analysis, or a social sciences field is preferred.

    Required Experience

    Requires at least two (2) years of associated professional work experience in an institutional research or educational setting.
