Job Summary

To provide proficient, age specific, direct and indirect patient care in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the nursing care for assigned patients in accordance with legal, hospital practice and departmental policies and procedures, established standards of nursing care and practice, and as defined by the state of Florida.  Communicates with physicians about changes in patient’s clinical condition including mental status, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.  Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.  Additionally, is able to perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision.  Participates in performance improvement and CQI activities.

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse in thestate of Florida o or Recognized Compact Licensure (subject to FloridaState Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility andduration provisions).
• American Red Cross or American Heart AssociationAdvanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and certification.

• AmericanRed Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS)and certification.

• 1-3 years of hospital Behavioral Health experience required
• 1 year of Utilization Review experience preferred.
• Bachelors Degree preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Additional languages preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• One year of Acute Nursing experience preferred.
