SHIFT: Days (rotating weekends)SCHEDULE: Full-time
The PsychiatricTreatment Center (PTC) is a 48 bed inpatient facility within Fort Walton Beachmedical Center that is dedicated to providing quality mental health care. ThePTC is located on the first floor and is composed of two separate 24-bed acutecare psychiatric units caring for adults 18 years and older who requireinpatient psychiatric treatment. The PTC provides treatment for a varietyof psychiatric conditions coexisting with medical problems. A comprehensivediagnostic evaluation is available as well as a treatment program tailored tothe individual needs of each patient. Following a comprehensive evaluation, aplan of care is formulated for each patient based on his/her individual needsincluding medical, psychiatric, family, and psychosocial components. Theobjective of this acute treatment is to stabilize patients, improve theirfunctioning, and successfully transition them to their next level of care
Fort Walton BeachMedical Center (FWBMC) is a 267-bed full-service hospital with over 200 of themost highly respected and qualified physicians in the area. It is recognized asa Top General Hospital for excellence in quality care and patient safety. It isthe only acute care hospital in the Tri-County area that offers open heartsurgery, an Accredited Advanced Primary Stroke Center, an Accredited Chest PainCenter, and a Cancer Care Center that is accredited by the Commission on Cancerand an Associate of the UAB Birmingham Health System Cancer Community Network.Its expanded emergency services include a dedicated Pediatric ER, 24/7 DestinER, and a full-service 24/7 Fort Walton Beach ER that includes the only LevelII Trauma Center in the Tri-County area.

Qualifications
- RN Degree from an accredited school of Nursing required
- BSN preferred
- Current FL RN license required or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held, active FL RN license is required within 90 days of hire
- BLS – AHA Healthcare Provider required upon hire
- CPI-Training provided upon hire
- Psychiatric experience preferred
- Acute care experience preferred
- Reads and writes Basic English with the basic skills necessary to transcribe physician’s orders
- Knowledge of body substance isolation
- Ability to listen, empathize and respond to patient, family, internal and external partners needs
- Basic computer skills
