Fort Walton Beach Medical Center, located on Florida's Emerald Coast, seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic Emergency Services team at our Free-Standing ER located in Destin, FL. Our emergency department provides an exquisitely challenging and exciting work environment. The hours of this position are 3p to 3a with alternating weekends.
The Destin ER is staffed 24/7 by experienced emergency room physician, nurses and technicians. The freestanding ER consists of eight exam/treatment rooms, On-site laboratory, and Computed Tomography (CT) and X-ray services. The Destin ER assesses and treats all ages, from babies to seniors.
Destin ER provides the same high-quality emergency care found at any hospital emergency room, without traveling outside the community. The Destin ER is equipped to handle traumatic, medical, pediatric, and/or psychiatric emergency healthcare needs. Patients requiring an advanced level of care will be stabilized and transported to the facility of their choice which has the required services available.
Destin ER is part of Fort Walton Beach Medical Center (FWBMC) which is a 267-bedfull-service hospital with over 200 of the most highly respected and qualifiedphysicians in the area. Qualifications
EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED:
- Associate Degree, Diploma in Nursing, or BSN
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
- State of Florida RN License
- BLS AHA Healthcare Provider required upon hire
- ACLS and PALS required within 90 days of hire
- CPI required within 90 days of hire
- TNCC preferred but required within six (6) months of hire
- ENPC preferred
- CEN and/or CPEN preferred
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED:
- Acute care experience required
- Critical or emergent care experience preferred
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
- Reads and writes Basic English with the basic skills necessary to transcribe physician’s orders
- Knowledge of body substance isolation
- Ability to listen, empathize and respond to patient, family, internal and external partners needs
- Basic computer skills
