Join our PE_Energy team within Pumps Equipment division in Mexico as PURCHASING MANAGER to help us take Procurement to the next level. 

In this role you will be accountable for:

  • Managing and leading the team of Operational Buyers in the Mexico factory, supervising procurement activities of all direct materials and defined indirect materials in SPMX; this includes Logistics and Warehouse management.
  • Aligning and challenging commodity strategies with Category Managers and the Management Team, developing agreements with critical suppliers ensuring optimal conditions for both parties to maintain long-term business relationships.
  • Generating timely reports to support decision-making processes at different levels, including the Management Team, meeting inventory and raw materials objectives, optimizing distribution costs of export and import, and selecting and maintaining suppliers.
  • Designing the best supply strategy in coordination with the departments involved, analyzing the demand to determine the best course of action, stablishing objectives of his team members and evaluating individual performance.
  • Training of its collaborators in the different logistics processes to maintain the position's required skills, ensuring that his team members master the SAP system according to the position's requirements (Modules PP Production Planning & MM Material Master, QM Quality Management, and others as required).
  • To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Over five years of experience in similar positions in the metalworking and, or manufacturing sectors in Mexico, proven capability of effectively working and communicating with team members in a multicultural, international matrix organization.
  • Experience in developing and implementing initiatives towards the development and improvement of existing vendors, knowledge of purchasing logistics and international procurement processes.
  • Experience in SAP use (MODULES PP Production Planning & MM Material Master, QM Quality Management, and other related modules), supervision of project management control, project development, investment feasibility, and strategic reorientations.
  • Production process optimization.Practical knowledge in implementation and use of continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, problem-solving techniques, and management of indicators methodologies.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or Business Administration.
