Job Description

The  Purchasing Direct Supervisor will be based in Guadalajara . Responsible assist the Purchasing Management of Direct Materials in the organization, planning and management of the purchasing department in order to reach and maintain purchasing objectives, develop purchasing policy and procedures and to lead and mentor the team with regard to all purchasing activities to ensure value is achieved for monies expended, providing maximum value to the business.

Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do:

  • Assist management to establish roles and responsibilities of purchasing goals
  • Drive for Inventory Turn Over improvement per site targets
  • Manage and optimize inventory at target levels
  • Drive for 100% supplier on time delivery
  • Initiate inventory control/cost containment to yield Purchase Price Variance
  • Assist in sourcing of new supply bases for competitive pricing, quality and reliable products
  • Supervise the team in the management of the supply chain to achieve continuous timely supply of parts and services
  • Work closely with the team to ensure purchasing compliance to corporate directives
  • Review controls to reduce exposures on End of Life Projects to minimize exposure on obsolete stock
  • Support corporate excess materials internal programs (as appropriate)
  • Analyze, negotiate and manage both new and existing suppliers for lead-time, payment terms and cost reduction
  • Deal with day-to-day operational issues with staff and act as escalation to unresolved HR issues to management

Here is some of what you’ll need (required):

  • English
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • A minimum of five years’ experience
  • Demonstrates functional, technical and people and/or process management skills as well as customer (external and internal) relationship skills.
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of the function and a thorough understanding of Flex and related business.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
