Ocala Health encompasses Ocala RegionalMedical Center, a 256-bed facility located in the heart of Ocala, and WestMarion Community Hospital, a 174-bed hospital located in west Marion County,Summerfield ER, a freestanding emergency department located in southern MarionCounty, and Maricamp ER, a freestanding emergency department located onMaricamp Road in Ocala. Ocala Regional Medical Center is a Level II TraumaCenter and a Comprehensive Stroke Center. The hospitals offer a host of otherquality and award winning services including orthopedic care and jointreplacement, robotic surgery, cardiac and vascular services including openheart surgery and interventional procedures, emergency, neurological andrehabilitation services, and bariatric surgery. Ocala Health has the onlyCommission on Cancer approved cancer center in Marion County. Ocala Health’soutpatient facilities include Family Care Specialists, a primary care networkof six locations throughout Marion County; Advanced Imaging Centers; a freestandingWound and Hyperbaric Center; a Senior Wellness Community Center; and threesurgical and physician specialty practices.
Working under the supervision of a nurse, the Nurse Tech performs various patient care activities necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients. The position's tasks and responsibilities include:
- Bathes, dresses/undresses patients assist with personal hygiene.
- Serves and collects food trays. Assists with patient feeding.
- Transports, positions and drapes patients for exams and treatments.
- Assists patients in ambulating.
- Takes and records vital signs, weights and I & O.
- Performs non sterile dressing changes.
- Passes and collects bed pans.
- Changes bed linens.
- Unit Secretary duties
- Provides encouragement, support and comfort to patients and family members.
- Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
- Provides age and culturally appropriate care.
- Orients and mentors new staff members.
- Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:
High School/GED
Certified Nursing Assistant License or
Completed 1st Semester of Nursing School(Fundamentals of nursing)
BLS through American Heart Association
Less than 1 year of experience in an acute care setting
PREFERRED:
1+ years of experience in an acute care setting
Working knowledge of medical terminology
Customer service abilities occluding effective listeningskills.
Ability to quickly make decisions to report patientcondition with minimal supervision.
Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing,bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/orequipment up to 50 lbs.
