Schedule: Full-Time Exempt

Our mission is toprovide exceptional primary care to seniors. Through our dynamic interdisciplinaryteam of physicians, nurse practitioner, registered nurses, case managers,pharmacists, and support staff, Senior Healthcare Centers address the widerange of medical and psychosocial issues affecting the aging population.

Our Outpatient Documentation Analystperforms and leads analysis, audit, and quality improvement initiatives relatedto documentation, prior authorizations, coding (ICD and CPT), technical billingand EMR usage for our four Senior Healthcare Center locations. Travel is requiredbetween locations.

 

 

Our Outpatient Documentation Analystresponsibilities include:

Documentation:

  • Review provider and staff documentation for completeness and accuracy

  • Audit, track and report opportunities and successes within EMR

  • Develops and implements EMR advancements such as templates, order sets, and other EMR features

Billing/Prior Authorizations:
  • Assign technical E/M Charges

  • Audit users for billing completeness
  • Use knowledge of insurance and billing to answer queries from patients and staff
  • Obtain prior authorization with insurance companies
Coding:
  • Reviews completed patient progress note for ICD and CPT code accuracy

  • Queries providers and staff as needed
  • Within coding guidelines, adjusts codes to be reflective of patient record
  • Assists with coding inquiries from outside resources i.e. outside labs, diabetic supplies, etc.
  • Serves as liaison for coding questions from providers and staff
Leadership:
  • Monitors, researches and makes recommendations on industry changes

  • Serves on leadership team of the Senior Healthcare Centers
  • Works with managers and providers and EMR specialist on service line improvement projects
  • Identify need, develop and perform training and education
  • Prepare and present reports to physician group

Clinic Hours areMonday through Friday 8am-5pm.  Collaboration with all Senior HealthcareCenters and hospital department team members is anticipated. http://www.seniorprimarycare.com/

 

SeniorHealthcare Centers are outpatient departments of North Florida Regional MedicalCenter (NFRMC). NFRMC is located in Gainesville, Florida and is a 445-bed,full-service medical and surgical acute care facility serving 14 counties inNorth-Central Florida. NFRMC offers comprehensive cardiovascular care,oncology, orthopedics, neurosciences, weight loss surgery and treatment,women’s health, wound therapy and senior care. NFRMC is a member of HospitalCorporation of America (HCA).

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
Education:
  • 2 years college or significant additional related experience required. 
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
Experience:
  • 3-5 years related healthcare experience required. Experience with outpatient healthcare preferred.
  • 2-3 years project management experience strongly preferred.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated skills in organization, verbal and written communications, customer service, math, analysis, reading, following instruction, computer usage. Proficient in using computer applications software. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving sills. Knowledge and use of ICD and CPT coding, anatomy, physiology and medical terminology. Ability to work in an office environment, attend meetings, work independently and in interdisciplinary team settings. Must be able to drive to assigned sites to complete work.
Licensure/Certification:
  • Certification in Coding, Health Information Management, Health Data Analysis, and/or Clinical Documentation Improvement certification or similar preferred.
