Qualifications

The Occupational Therapist is a skilled member of the health care team and provides therapeutic services to patients through the use of initial assessments, therapeutic procedures and interventions in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the hospital and applicable law.  Treats disabilities, injuries and disease through the use of therapeutic techniques according to prescriptions from a physician, performs testing and evaluation procedures on patients. 

  • Customer service abilities including effective listening skills
  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy school. 
  • Current State of Florida Occupational Therapist license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through American Heart Association.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with hospital staff; handle frequent interruptions.
  • Adapt to changes in workload and work schedule; establish priorities; communicate effectively (verbal and written); must maintain confidentiality of patient information; ability to meet the care needs of ages of customers
